Gimbal is great, app is not
Bought this for use with a Hero 8 Black and after setting it up, took it on a ski trip. The unit itself is robust and works quite well. It is definitely tough and splash proof (I fell a few times on the slopes). It even stabilized my fall. It does have a slight drift over time and I tried calibrating it but the calibration sequence is complete rubbish and is nearly impossible to do (I tried for about 45 mins). Other than that, it works and the battery life is excellent.

Works well
Using it with an Akaso brave 8 and it really works well. I watched a video on YouTube and found it is very easy to use.

A real stability problem solver
I bought this for use with my "Apeman Action Camera " knowing that the wifi feature was not going to work. Considering the price I did not know what to expect. I knew I had a shaking problem, and I trusted this would solve it. So far I am very happy with the results. Very easy to use, and very good results when used for it's, intended purpose.I only gave it four stars because It came with only the briefest of instructions. And it is limited as to what cameras it interfaces with. Additional instructions are available on the website. And hopefully, some future upgrade will include more brands of cameras.

Cost Effective Stabilizer
Like: The quality of the product seems top notch and the motors operate smoothly with a camera installed.Dislike: I really like further explanation of some the features on the camera such as "Sport Mode" on the trigger and modes for all the motors. I was hoping there would be a tutorial on what modes are good for what situations. However, the main purpose I think most people use it for is just stabilizing normal GoPro footage, which this device is setup to do right out the box.

works but difficult to use
it takes a lot of setting up and whenever i start it, i have to reposition the camera holder. because the side which has the lens always ends up facing me. i miss moments that i quickly wanted to capture because of this.

Works real well with my DSC-RX0
As many of you already know, the Sony DSC-RX0 has no horizon lock and no built in stabilization. But with the Hohem gimbal, I was able to catch videos within mere inches from the crashing waves at Kekaha Beach on Kaua'i. When some water splashed on this gimbal, it functioned flawlessly. If you have a real lightweight action cam and don't want to mess with their proprietary software to stabilize your videos in "post", this is one flexible option.

Works well,..... BUT
The gimbal was easy to use, controls are well laid out, remote pairing was easy and the axis motors were smooth and silent. It was looking like an excellent purchase.I use my Gopro 8 to record my son's sporting events and have been doing this using a normal tripod or handle. I normally run the record for the entire 1st half, stop and record the entire 2nd half. Never had any issues before. When I first used this, I notices a lot of heat coming from the gopro and the axis motors. As soon as the game ended, I opened the battery door and pulled the battery out and noticed it was sort of stuck. The battery had bulged from the heat and seemed damaged.I assumed the battery was going bad, so I put another battery in to record the next game. Same routine, and to my surprise, this other battery was hot to touch and bulged as well. Now I have 2 potentially damaged batteries.I'm guessing the gimbal design is blocking the ventilation of the gopro and is causing the overheating. I've been recording like this for months and never had these issues.I'm very bummed as the gimbal worked flawlessly otherwise.

Makes my cheap action camera very stable
This is probably one of the products I bought on Amazon that's actually worth its money. I have a 6 year old action camera that has no EIS. The gimbal really makes it very stable.
