Liked it and it does what I need but you need to hold it a certain distance from what you’re magnifying for the item to be in focus.

This is helpful for small-detailed crafting I do regularly where my glasses or naked eye would be strained otherwise. The lights are great so there isn’t a shadow being cast on what I’m trying to look at, which is a huge benefit that not a lot of other magnifying glasses have.The only drawback would be that the handle is pretty wide so it can be easy to drop if you are somewhat clumsy like myself; I am rating 5 stars because it is a good product, but I would recommend something more stable / table mounted if you are using for professional work or crafting where you might need two hands.

This magnifying glass is great for reading the fine print of morning newspapers, the lights surround the glass on one side and brightly illuminate the print. I have a form of macular degeneration, JFT, and have lost central vision in one eye. This glass works for me. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is that it is a bit heavy after holding for long periods.

Very uncomfortable for arthritic hands....too heavy.Sure does work though.

I typically use generic reading glasses to read my Bible but lighting always seems to be an issue. This magnifying glass provides the perfect amount of magnification along with the perfect amount of light. I can read pretty much any print with ease. Even with batteries, it’s not very heavy and the handle is very comfortable to hold.

I've had trouble ordering the trio of Vivitar magnifiers lately and saw this one on sale. So, my review is comparing it to the Vivitar magnifiers I've used for years...It's extremely heavy and bulky (so not very portable or practical for long periods of use). It features a generous number of LEDs that provide a ridiculous amount of light (probably enough to navigate a dark cellar... ooooooo...). The glass is *very* thick and provides powerful magnification but is unfortunately WAAAY distorted around the edges; in fact, only a small area in the middle is usable for me, and I must...kind...of...read...each...word...separately (maybe helpful for extremely fine print on small labels, such as washing instructions, but for not printed material of any real length, like a user manual).Where it really fails, however, is in the quality of the battery compartment, which has* A very flimsy cover/catch (basically, if I press just slightly on it, it falls off) that's made of far thinner plastic (than the rest of the handle), which is bizarre considering the magnifier's general heft* The thinnest, cheapest springs I've ever seen (which means that if my batteries ever leak, as AAs are prone to do, removing corrosion with baking soda and a damp soft toothbrush would be a delicate operation and likely break the springs off entirely)It comes in a nice, sturdy box, though the one I received was completely smashed on the end where the glass was inside (I'm actually surprised the glass wasn't shattered...testament to sturdy glass?) and apparently moisture damaged as well (shoddy storage/transport).Personally, I don't find this magnifier particularly useful due to the distortion, so unless a friend or family member wants it, it'll probably end up in a donation bag before long.

I love this magnifying glass for working on jigsaw puzzles and other close work that requires magnification (like finding Waldo with my youngest grandchild). It's easy to hold, but does get heavy over time. I just take a break when that happens. Good purchase.

I got this for my son for Christmas and he has already dropped it a few times, it has held up well! It’s a little heavy. It works great, he is enjoying it!
