Dewalt - nothing else to say.
Bought this so I wouldn't kill my cordless mixing drywall compound. Works like a champ. I hope to live as long as this drill probably will.

Driller Thriller
Not all drills are designed the same. I wanted a 1/2" drive, VSR with a relatively low top RPM but with plenty of power. I also wanted it at a reasonable price but with construction quality that would cause it to last for years under routine use by an intense DIY'er, me. The detailed list of specifications on the Amazon site allowed me to pick exactly what I wanted and I ended up paying $15. less than the sale price in any of the big-box stores. It arrived in 2 days and I put it right to work using a4-1/2" hole saw through a double layer of 5/8" plywood. Trust me, use the auxillary handle and hold on tight this brute has got the power I was looking for. The VSR trigger provides very good speed control and the overall construction of the drill is impressive. I got exactly the drill I wanted and more quality than I anticipated for the price. I would have given it 5 stars except for the fact that the chuck key does not engage the chuck as positively as I would like but, with enough pressure you can tighten the chuck as tight as required. The chuck itself is high quality.

Dewalt reduced the size of the chuck key / chuck key hole
I needed a 2nd Dewalt DW235G power ( corded ) drill. I had bought one 4 years ago and bought a 2nd one few days ago.At some point, Dewalt had reduced the size of the power drill chuck key, so my old chuck key did not fit into the new chuck key hole making me think I had bought a knock-off.Found same DW235G drill for sale at Ace Hardware, plus at Home Depot, they both also had the reduced chuck key size confirming that it all was good with the power drill I had bought. The drill came in great condition and delivered much earlier than the posted estimate .Am very satisfied with the product I ordered and company I ordered it from.Note:(After searching many YouTube videos, I have since learned to Be very careful when buying power tools online, their are fakes / knockoffs out there, I got a good authentic product from a good company. But next time I'll be buying any power tools straight from the manufacturer or from established box stores. The worrying from online shopping for lower cost power tools just isnt worth it. )

Bought mine in 2007...Still going
I love this drill. I purchased this drill from Amazon in 2007 for $50 on sale to use in a house renovation. What a find then. Still going strong now. This is my go to drill for heavy situations like building my pergola. It smoked a little but it ran those bolts right through. Now I'm using it to build outdoor furniture like Restoration Hardware copies with 4x4s and making a catio for my 5 cats. I like that this model is still available if I need to replace this brute!

Could drill to the center of the Earth
After cooking an old Craftsman corded and a B&D Firestorm (new version -- the old version is still going strong) installing wiring in an office remodel, I decided to spring for a *real drill*. This baby is a monster, and the price is fantastic (1/2 of the price I saw at Home Desperate, er, Depot). Be aware that this is NOT a high-speed drill. However, for larger holes, Forstner bits, and the like, you will never be sorry you got this. No overheating issues when used right. Ridgid does make an equally powerful drill, by the numbers (9 amps, actually), but it doesn't really feel as serious, and it's twice the price; you'll probably have to invoke their (very nice) lifetime warranty.

Solid Drill, Lots of torque
I'm not a tradesperson, but needed to do some reno work that required a good drill. The cordless drills I have did not have the torque to do the job, so I bought this drill. I didn't want to spend a whole pile of money since I won't use it that much, and this seemed reasonable. It works great, no issues going thru the hardest wood with an auger bit. Delivery was very quick also, which was a plus.

Great Drill GReat Price
Purchased this drill to be a universal power driver for all things in and around the house. It was used to put over 1500 3" screws in a deck, drill 1/4 and 3/8" holes through 4x4 treated wood. Also used with a 2" hole saw for a side project and all's I can say is the vsr worked perfectly as it didn't increment too quickly or too slowly. The VSR varied at a logical and easy to get used to rate. This drill has more than enough power as I used it today again to drill a bolt out of a brake caliper pin guide that was rusted solid and when the bit decided to catch the drill, at 3/4 speed button press, wrenched my wrist right over. I wasn't using the included second handle. This drill will strip a bit head or rip a screw/bolt head off before it doesn't have enough power. This drill is light weight for the quality of the product. The chuck is smooth and easy to get hardware in and out of. Keyless chuck can be swapped in for a bit more money after words as well! I likely the key based chuck myself.Excellent all around usage! If you look at the dewalt website the specs for this drill are modest. It is capable of larger holes than listed. Highly recommend this drill to anyone commercial or residential!Only cons would be the lack of the cool looking black hand grip and the chuck key holder as it's a piece of rubber that is a bit flimsy. As far as the handgrip goes it is barely a con as I personally want the drill to slip out of my hand if it bites drilling metal... else I would risk wrist injury! Lastly, the balance seems a bit off when applying pressure for screwing... if you don't hold the drill quite high on the handle the drill tends to push the screw over. This however is typical with one handed use of a drill designed for two hands and it's mold type. A mid-trigger handled drill would be more balanced but sacrifices reach IMO.
