Worked out great for what Im using it for the moment playing Christmas disc music with my decorations then have other plains after the holidays.

Works well! Replaced the original radio that went bad. Easy to wire, DVD and all other functions work well. Great price

The unit works and sounds just fine. I've checked all the functions I will use (radio, BT, CD, DVD). We installed it in our camping trailer, so the DVD player could be nice to have on inclement evenings. My only complaints are that the instructions aren't entirely clear in some regards (getting the DVD to accept the "play" input after the initial menu comes up, for instance, is a multistep process - easy once you have the "decoder ring"). I have also not been able to set the clock. I follow the instructions but it doesn't behave as they say it will. I don't really need the clock, but it's mildly annoying that I can't set it correctly. Finally, the trim pieces (you get two) won't stay on. I may have to put a little double-sided tape on the backside to keep it in place. Again, not a serious issue in our application (it would be much more serious in a car), but mildly annoying.

Edit: I went to Boss website and called their tech help. Tech was VERY helpful!!!My problem? Both the red AND yellow wires need 12VDC. The red will drain your battery unless it is turned off when the vehicle is turned off (hence why it is labeled “accessory”). I didn’t comprehend this, and didn’t connect the red wire to anything.Original review:Bought this a while ago for my RV. Just got around to install. It’s dead out of the boxFuse is good. It has power. Tried following the VERY basic troubleshooting guide. One recommendation was to RE-seat the front cover. The face lit up for a second when I undid and re-did the zif cable. So value for money I put as 2 stars. Why? Its 2020, DVD players should be able to do quite a bit more than just play DVDs. This has a USB function to play what ever is on the USB. The menu (all menus on this are crap) for the USB is trash. Its set up like a windows 95 file system which only can see a few file types. I had 30 movies and this only saw 4. The remote has a zoom function which only mutes while the mute button also mutes!? The rear auto output does not work. Lucky for me my amp has a 2 channel or 4 channel input switch so that saved the day. Speaking of which, I dont believe this pushes much to the amp, weak signal. The signal it provides to the TV is pretty crappy too. Again, its 2020 so why no HDMI? Now I understood the VGA going in but I guess I expected more. Overall, dont waste your money. Spend a bit more and get something more up to date with HDMI.

This car stereo was easy enough to fit as the colored wires matched up with the same colored wires in my truck. And it fitted straight into the space of the old one., with no wobbling. In use the only real problems I have are the buttons, they are very small and fiddly, and hard to read. The sound from the speakers is a bit thin, there’s very little bass, though adding you’re own sub woofer would be easy enough I’m sure. Other than that it does everything it’s supposed to do. The radio, CD player USB connection and Bluetooth all work excellent. As well as the hands free phone usage, all round an excellent quality product you won’t be disappointed with.

My son needed a new stereo for his truck and it’s worked great for him. Easy to install . He installed it himself and he’s 17 .

No, it most definitely did not meet my expectations. The exact opposite would be the case. Actually, I am way beyond disappointed. First, I ordered the unit and it arrived exactly on time, however no update was ever made to the tracking number so I was not able to track when it would arrive. Second, I installed the unit it 100% correctly according to the directions. The unit worked perfect for about a 1/2 hour and then out of nowhere no audio output was ever heard again. So, I contacted BOSS' tech support and their tech guy basically told me that the unit was defective and to contact Amazon for a replacement or refund. He also said that it was most likely a blown resistor as they had experienced this issue with other several of these units. I went online and requested a replacement from Amazon without issue. But again, there was never an update to the tracking number so I was not able to track when the replacement would arrive. It did arrive arrive on the day they said, however. Since the replacement unit was the exact same as the original, I was able to connect it to the original wiring harnesses. This time the replacement never produced any audio at all. This particular unit has a display on the front which serves as a VU meter to let you know it is producing an audio signal. This display, on both units, flashed with the beat of whatever song was playing but no sound was coming out of the speakers. I did detect, on the replacement unit, the smell of burnt electronic components. I've worked around audio equipment my whole life so I recognize that odor quite well. Needless to say, I am disappointed beyond words. In addition, my van has been in total disarray for what seems like an eternity because I can't put it back together with no unit to mount in the dashboard. This time I won't be asking for another replacement. I will only get a full refund and find a unit that works as it's supposed to work. The thing that attracted me to this unit was its price. But, as the old saying goes, "you get what you pay for!" Lesson learned, the hard way!
