Great MIO-892 Sound Card!
I started off with a motherboard that did not have audio outputs integrated onboard, but it did have a MIO-892 supported slot, so this was the ideal audio card for my needs. It is true that it's not compatible with all motherboards, but it is compatible with motherboards with a MIO-892 supported slot. As long as your mother board has a MIO-892 supported slot, this card will work for you. This card has been working flawlessly for me.

Works as intended
I bought this sound card previously and it was DoA. This time around the item worked perfectly with my workstation/server using an Asus Server motherboard. This card has a PCI-E x1 form factor but it will only work with select Asus motherboards aimed at the server/workstation market. The PCI-E slot must be MIO-Audio enabled for the sound card to work. Check your motherboard manual if this card is compatible before you purchase it or you will waste your time. As far as sound quality it's nothing special but will work nonetheless

Old hardware
Sound card seemed to be good quality, however poor description on information about sound card. The card is not compatible with Windows 10 operating systems.

If you need it, you need it.
A lot of ASUS workstation boards don't include onboard audio due to the difficulty of routing the traces, and the fact that many of these motherboards won't be used in situations where they require onboard audio at all. This is a very decent sound codec (not as good as a high-end soundblaster or more boutique sound card offering) but with a seperate card it's got noise isolation from the motherboard and more space to route all the needed outputs.

Be sure you have a MIO port
Perfect in every way! But of course, I have a motherboard with a MIO port.

BUYER BEWARE!!
This sound card can only be used in a asus stryker II motherboard or similar type asus motherboards due to is proprietary software used in the bios!! It will not work in any standard motherboards even though it will snap into the pcie x1 port on your computer. These sellers on here are not telling you this info and then charging restocking fees when you find out you need to return it. I hope amazon will check into my sale and force these folks into refunding these sounds cards without restocking fees attached!! BUYER BEWARE!!!!
