A nice storage unit and a great value
First of all, I don't write many reviews, not that I don't appreciate them, but I just rarely make time for them as when I do, I really put a lot of thought into it and usually takes a lot of time. However, I needed to write this review to express how impressed I am with this product. I also want to make it known that I am a discerning shopper and work for a very high end furniture manufacturer.I needed something for my bedroom and didn't want it to break the bank. I actually started out looking for simple bookcase but I stumbled upon this in my search. The design resembled a very expensive piece of furniture sold by the company I work for. Naturally, I clicked on it to check it out. The pictures show decent quality and it was the size I needed. I read the reviews and they were decent also. I couldn't believe the price at $150.00. I decided to pull the plug and order it and I'm so glad I did.I wasn't sure what to expect but I was immediately impressed by the manner and quality of the packaging. Everything arrived perfect and the exact hardware came with it, also packaged well and easy to sort out. The different parts were actually separated in different compartments in plastic and labeled with letters. The wood components themselves were also marked clearly with numbers so there were no mistaking the different parts (although 5 & 6 were a bit confusing). But the best part was that the instructions were VERY clear and easy to follow with accompanying illustrations to describe how they go together. Every part was present and accounted for and there was NO damage to any of it.Now, I am a 53 y/o single woman who happens to be very handy. I love putting things together and have had many bouts with IKEA furniture where I just wanted to kick the damn thing. I took my time and set all the parts out for easy access. I followed the instructions and worked with care and attention. It came together beautifully. There was the part where I missed a step and had to disassemble part of it to put in the missing piece, but that wasn't too difficult and took only a few minutes.A few words of advice if you buy this and want to ensure proper assembly the first time. Make sure you put the back panel in with the wood side facing the front. I had it backwards (DUH )and had to disassemble part of it to turn it around. But again, not a big deal. Follow the instructions step by step and don't skip steps. Whoever wrote the instructions sequenced the steps perfectly for a logical assembly. I also used a powered drill which helped speed it up a bit.Now this is not an heirloom quality piece of furniture and I didn't expect it to be. But the veneer is nice and overall quality is excellent for a product at this price. It actually looks more expensive than it is and does the job I need it to do. Now, I don't know how this will hold up to a houseful of active children, because it's particle board covered with wood veneer. It is very light, which I like so I can move it if needed. I have a lot of very high quality furniture and cannot even budge them and sometimes that can be very frustrating.I highly recommend this product for it's overall quality and value.

Beautiful, easy-to-assemble, and gorgeous!
This was easy and straightforward to assemble. The instructions are clear and I found the steps to be very smartly organized. It took me about 30-40 min to assemble. The wood veneer is gorgeous and I love the design of this piece. The box it came in was very well packaged to prevent the wood from being damaged during shipping. My box had been banged up by UPS but because the wood inside is protected by styrofoam and paper, none of the pieces were damaged.Overall, the value for the cost is very good. My one complaint, which I really can't complain about at this price point, is that the walnut veneer is very very thin. If you dent or have a medium scratch in the veneer it has a good chance of going through the veneer and showing the much lighter color MDF material below it. But, if you want nice walnut veneer, you gotta pay 3-5X this price to get it.

Great piece
Easy to put together. Sturdy. Doesn’t look like particle board. I used it in a bathroom for storage. I have the matching vanity. Modway makes some solid pieces. They look nice. Price is decent. And they are super easy to assemble.

Amazing Value
I only write Amazon reviews if something is outstanding. Maybe five times in ten years. Excellent design, well engineered, very sturdy, and our electronics and their remotes work behind the slotted doors. Assembles like Ikea furniture only much more substantial. Incredible bargain for about $180. Better like it because you’re never going to get it back in the box. The packaging alone is remarkable.

Nice looking but clearly inexpensive
It's a sweet piece, great for small space. Easy to put together, but there's one section that it is not clear and as such, when fully assembled i was unable to install the shelf. be careful with this section. it is not clearly marked that the shelf holes must line up and if you are not familiar with the piece you'll miss it as i did.

Fabulous!
I am so, so happy with this stand. I am especially pleased by the quality of the veneer, it's the highest quality faux walnut I've ever seen and it really does look just like real walnut. I was worried it would look like cheap MDF furniture but the design looks authentic and it blends in like a dream. If you are worried about mixing this with authentic mid-century and having it look cheap, I feel it passes the test. Well done to the designers. I also did not have any issues with chipped pieces etc, it arrived pristine.I opted for the display stand over the TV stands because I wanted the extra storage to keep all my electronics in one place instead of having it spread out on a bunch of end tables in the house. Inside I've stored two internet modems, my Google Wifi, my set top box, Roku, landline phone, XBOX with Kinect and controllers, all my remotes, some DVDs and there is still room for more things to stow away if necessary. The only issue I had is that the sliding doors kept wanting to come out easily if being pulled in an outward direction, and I figured out the way to fix it and to get a snug fit: I took a pencil eraser (the little ones that are attached to the top of pencils), cut it in half to create two ~1cm pieces, and put them each of them in the little hole in the sliding doors where the pieces that glide along the sliding rails go. I used two erasers, one for the top sliding door and one for the bottom sliding door. This added an extra centimeter of height that allows the sliding doors to stay in perfectly snugly. I hope that helps if you have the same issue.Overall I am very happy with this display stand and though I've only had it for a short amount of time, it has held up perfectly to the accidental jab on the veneer with my hammer and screwdriver during assembly. I am a petite woman and it took me about two hours alone with a manual screwdriver. Instructions are in perfect English and diagrams are easy to understand.

Great Value, solid construction, smart packing!
Unpacking: you won't often hear unboxing furniture being interesting or even a notable experience. But this was packed so surprisingly well, I must comment. If this item ever got damaged through shipping, you'd be really unlucky. Every nook and cranny is either protected by styrofoam or cardboard shims. Beyond that, I feel so much thought went into designing how this was packed, just a marvel of space efficiency. I've received a lot of furniture from Amazon, Ikea, CB2 or Costco for my recent renos. A lot of those have items thrown into the boxes quite haphazardly, like the screws/etc. Not the case here.Construction: I read reviews recommending wood glue so I too built it with wood glue on every wooden dowel. I would say, it is a very sturdy unit. There is no wobble. I also did not encounter any misaligned or finnicky holes, which is often the issue with these build it yourself furniture items. The instructions were simple to follow, imo. The corresponding numbers were either stickered on to the pieces or printed in ink on the MDF sides that don't show when assembled. I never felt confused when putting this together. They don't give you any extra parts, so be careful. But they do give you parts to secure and anchor it to the wall. And they did add some extra thought into their included parts, such as protective feet for the legs or plastic nubs for the sliding screens so they don't damage the side panels. The veneer is matte. I don't mind because I dislike that very shiny polyurethane look of stained wood. But it does worry that there might not be a lot of protection from scratches. We shall see!The sliding mechanism is all plastic. It is smooth but I wouldn't say it feels premium.Looks great and fit the small space I had in my apartment.
