No complaints so far. Installation was quick and easy. I used a paint marker, an awl, a regular cordless drill with a 1/4" masonry drill bit, a #6-10 DuoPower Anchor and appropriately sized metal washers to mount it to Brick. It probably took less than 15 minutes once it was unboxed and I gathered the tools. This winder seems very sturdy and the build appears to be solid. It is a little heavier and maybe a little more compact than I expected it to be but in a good way and it is attractive to boot. This thing winds my hose with minimal effort and it was an actual joy to do on my first go. So much so that I ran the hose out and did it a second time. I have observed zero leaks but I have yet to put any real pressure on the connectors. I'll test it out with my power washer soon enough. It was -16% off at the time of my purchase which made it a pretty fair deal. I needed a new garden hose reel for my back yard as the old plastic ground-based reel fell apart. After plenty of research, I purchased this one. What an excellent choice. Very well made, super sturdy, and works like a charm. And, it looks great! Love the shelf on top, on which I store extra hose nozzles, the occasional water bottle while moving the lawn, work gloves, etc. In my case, I mounted it to a poured concrete wall using a carbide-tipped drill bit, hammer drill, and tapcon screws. It was really tough getting this screwed all the way in but well-worth it. The only issue, which they do address in their instructions and on the website, is that the leader hose may spin and knot/kink, when it is not supposed to. I shot a bit of silicone spray inside the mechanism which they suggest and all is now good. Pulling the hose out is a breeze. And to my pleasant surprise, reeling it back up is equally easy. I did not want the model that has the worm screw that makes the hose coil a certain way. Instead, I use my hand to guide it when reeling it in. I also selected this one since it is unlikely to rust (cast aluminum?). Love this hose reel, the way it looks, and how easy it is to pull out the hose and reel it back in! I highly recommend this.

Easy to install and holds a lot of hose. I suggest rolling the hose on and off once or twice to get it laid in well but other than that its ready to go.Attractive look and no rust worries with the aluminum frame.The only downside (not enough to take off a full star) is that the hose connector on the reel sits pretty high and far from the edge so the first few wraps are a little difficult to get the hose to lay well. I partially solved this with a $9 kink saver from the big box which let the hose lay down on the reel a little better without pinching it. But once you get the first few wraps started its fine. And you'll only ever see it again if you take the hose all the way off.

This hose reel appears to be well made, and solid. It’s a simple install, as it’s pre assembled. If you winterize this reel, it should last many years …time will tell, and I will update my review, if there’s a problem in the future. When I mentioned winterizing, I’m referring to locations that receive below freezing temperatures. If water is allowed to freeze inside the hose, it could damage the seals. Always detach, and drain the water out, if in a freeze zone.

This seems to be a solid, well made hose reel. In my 25+ years as a homeowner, I've had to replace 3 plastic hose reels. They simply do not hold up long term. The plastic starts to degrade and turn brittle. The metal ones may cost more, but they're worth the extra cost simply because they're more durable. This model of the Liberty hose reel appealed to me because it has the top shelf for holding nozzles, hand soap or other things. My only complaint, and it's very minor, Liberty does not include and mounting hardware. From their point of view, they have no way of knowing what type of surface the customer will be dealing with. You'll need different bolts/screws/anchors depending on your situation, especially if mounting on brick/stone/concrete.

This turned out to be perfect both visually and functionally. I have a heavy weight 75ft hose on it and it handles it with easy. The shelf it is topped with is just right for your hose attachments. The finish is attractive and tough. Beautiful vintage look on the side of my 124 year old farm house.

After using this for 4 years I thought I'd write a review for this hose reel. I'm very happy with this. It still works as good as when I bought it. I have read many reviews about people breaking the handle, etc. I suspect any problems with it breaking were due to misuse. I use this thing almost daily. Nothing has broken. One issue I did have was the small bolt that holds the handle on the shaft kept loosening. I just put some Loctite on the threads and it never loosened again. One feature that is very handy is the tray on the top. A good place to keep spare hose attachments. Very pleased with this purchase.

Have one and like it so much I bought another for the other side of the house. Nice place to put detached nozzles, etc. Easy to install and easy crank
