Good So Far!
I've only had it for five days now, but so far it's good! Everything works, but my satisfaction with it could be the use of the trunk-mounted BROWNING BR-180 Amateur Dual-Band Mobile Antenna. In my case, I used the Tram Browning Black 1246-B Trunk Antenna Mount NMO to mount it, and it was easy to install. It's working better than the mag-mounted Nagoya UT-72 Super Loading Coil 19-Inch Magnetic Mount I was using before.I would like to note that it arrived late, but Amazon compensated me for it. The fan works, and I purchased the extended warranty for mine. It's a nice little dedicated mobile unit. Again, it's been less than a week, and I plan to test the power output shortly, so this review may change.

First one failed
I ordered this radio for its size and the cost to install in my jeep. I purchased it before I took my technician test so I spent a week listening but no TX. I could not get the supplied driver/software to connect to the radio. There are videos on YouTube on how to program it manually, it's just time consuming.Anyway, tonight after not transmitting even once with it, the radio died. When you turn it on, the radio no longer "chirps" (with or without beep enabled) when it comes on. There is a hum coming through the speaker which gets louder as the volume is decreased and softer when increased. It is not even receiving the NOAA frequency and I checked it simplex with my handheld and nothing. Antenna connections are both good and it's direct wired to my battery. I'm sending it back and I guess I'll try another one since I don't want to spring for a higher end radio right before Christmas.I will update once I test the 2nd one.

Nice small radio with a lot of potential
Nice small radio with a lot of potential, however, the owners manual was not very intuitive and I have found out that some important programming steps were not even in the manual. Translation errors are event throughout the manual. The proprietary programming software would load up on my laptop and at the time of this review, Chirp does not support this radio. It's cheap cheap enough to experiment with but not very user freindly at this point.

Like the price
I had to return mine. Was not able to get the "no audio on active channel select" bug fixed. Tried the workarounds on Miklor.com but nothing seemed to work. I turned BEEP off and that fixed the SCAN problem. Turned TDR OFF and that did nothing. Like the price. Like the size. Like the 25W power. Actually a lot to like in the little radio. I just couldn't get the one I received to work. I might try another one . . . maybe.

buy one!! you will love it.
The radio works very well. If you get the programming cable as I did you may have to use an older driver for it to program with the software and windows 7. If the radio gets too hot then it will shut down. You also might want to replace the cigarette plug ( male) as the one that comes with it is a little small and looses connection easily. Over all I get excellent signal reports and told I am really very clear even in the noisiest areas.Thank you
