A magnificent collection of Kenny Rogers's greatest hits in two high-quality CDs!
I'm so glad I purchased this magnificent collection of Kenny Rogers's all-time greatest hits! This incredible artist is no longer with us, but we still have his music to enjoy for years to come. This two-disc collection spans decades of Kenny's career, going clear back to the First Edition's recording of "Just Dropped In." The set contains forty-two of his greatest songs, including these mega-hits: Ruby Don't Take Your Love To Town, Reuben James, Lucille, Sweet Music Man, The Gambler, She Believes In Me, Coward of the County, Lady, We've Got Tonight, Islands in the Stream, You Decorated My Life, Don't Fall in Love With a Dreamer, and many more. The sound quality of these CD's is excellent, adding to my enjoyment of these beautiful songs by one of our greatest artists. Sit back, relax, and listen to hours of unforgettable music by the legendary Sweet Music Man, Kenny Rogers. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Some GREAT....some SYRUPY STINKERS.
The real IRONY here is that people are writing negative reviews saying this collection has RE-recorded songs on it. They are ABSOLUTELY NOT RE-records!!! What they are hearing are the first 4 songs that were done by Kenny Rogers and The First Edition. THEY ARE ORIGINAL RECORDINGS! The first 4 songs ONLY SOUND poor compared to his NEWER recordings.SOLUTION: Kenny did re-record these first 4 tunes on "KENNY ROGERS: TEN YEARS OF GOLD" which may be purchased at a very cheap price and the re-records actually SOUND BETTER than the ORIGINAL recordings! Kenny has a lot of GREAT songs, but he definitely had a lot of syrupy-sugar-sweet stuff during the 80s that were PURE MUSH that were suitable only for doctors/dentists office. You know the ones I'm talking about....no need to list them all here. Here is my personal list of winners and stinkers.THE BEST: ALL his early tunes with The Fist Edition, Love Lifted Me (excellent!), Sweet Music Man, Daytime Friends, Twenty Years Ago, Islands in the Stream, most of his duets with Dottie West and Sheena Easton are very good.THE WORST: Through the Years, Crazy, You Decorated My Life, Love the World Away, Lady, She Believes in Me,The Vows Go Unbroken (you can't help but remember he broke his vows).SUMMARY: Kenny Rogers has some GREAT songs. But he had some awfully syrupy-sweet songs that were equally as BAD. Overall, a good collection probably worth the money to most people.

Kenny Rogers 42 Ultimate Hits
Bought it for the number of KR songs. Had to had Islands in The Stream. Did not disappoint. While I am not a critical sound person I had no problems with the sound quality as was indicated in some reviews. Was a really good listen especially all his old songs and duets.
