Great monitor for the price
I have recently decided to upgrade to a 144hz monitor and settled on this one. Here are my impressions after a few weeks of using it. A few things to note, this is my first time using a VA panel as well as a 144hz panel and a curved screen.Colors: they look good. when comparing to my old monitor (LG 27uk650) my girlfriend and I both preferred the lg for the more saturated colors while the AOC had deeper blacks. When they aren't right next to each other it isn't as noticeable, and video and pictures look very good.Brightness: this was a big issue that people brought up multiple times saying it didn't get bright enough. For me it is just fine running at contrast 50 and brightness 90 in a room with a big window. My old monitor I would leave around 50% brightness.Text: this is my biggest complaint and I'm not sure if it is because of the resolution or something about VA panels but the text is just slightly less sharp. the letters aren't as defined as on the old 4k monitor but it isn't a huge issue. It seems like something besides just being a lower pixel density.Refresh rate: I don't think I can go back to 60 hz. just using windows everything is so much smoother and makes the experience so much better and pleasant to look at. In game it made things look way better since I play mostly rocket league. the game almost seemed slower and the action was easier to keep track of.Curve: I'm undecided on this one as I have never used a curved screen before but it’s interesting. It should make for a cool dual monitor setup if I get another one of these monitors.Video: when watching the same video on my old 4k ips monitor right next to this new one, there was hardly a noticeable difference in quality, with only a slight difference in vibrancy as I talked about in the colors section.Other things about the screen: it arrived working perfectly and was easy to setup. I'm not currently using the stand, but it seemed sturdy and has lots of adjust-ability. Also, the red band at the bottom isn't something I wanted but I don't really notice it while using the monitor.Price: I got this for under $250 after tax and I think this is the best part of the monitor. Currently many monitors with these specs are going for more money than this one so I'm glad I picked this one.Overall, I am very happy with it. I always thought I would need 4k and prefer it over a high refresh rate I think I have converted myself to 144hz

Excellent for the price
I'm certainly no expert on monitors, but this has been a blast to use on my daily driver desktop. This replaced a 60hz 1050p OEM Dell monitor I'd been using. The reason I kept the old Dell so long was that -- despite the low res --it had great vibrant colors. This monitor is an excellent choice for color as well; colors are vibrant and the blacks are very dark. It's very sharp as well, and coming from a 60hz panel, 144hz makes a HUGE difference. Everything feels ridiculously smooth, even just the desktop. It's pretty great if your GPU can keep up. Just remember to change your monitor settings, the default is 60hz!This monitor seems to be aimed at gamers, but movies and videos look awesome on it too. I could take or leave the curve, but it does make it feel a little more immersive. My biggest gripe with this display is that it's a little smeary. Look at something with sharp contrast, move the screen, you can see ghosting. It's by no means a dealbreaker, but for a high refresh rate gaming monitor, it's not ideal.Bottom line, it's buttery smooth, refreshingly vibrant, super sharp, solidly built, and, if prices settle down to around $240, I'd say more than worth it. I'll be keeping this for years to come!

Fantastic monitor for the price
This is my first >60Hz monitor, and I'm loving it so far. For reference, I'm coming to this from a $600 34" LG 3440x1440 Ultrawide IPS display. The colors were noticeably worse than my LG out of the box, but after quite a bit of tweaking color, brightness, and contrast settings, I've gotten the color on my AOC to look almost as good in that department. The main advantage of VA panels like this is the excellent contrast ratio. As long as you've got your settings dialed in correctly, this panel gives you VERY deep blacks (not OLED-level, but still very good). So, even though the color performance isn't quite as good as my LG, the AOC still looks better to my eyes. The other big advantage of VA panels is that they have virtually no back-light bleed or glow, like IPS panels tend to suffer from. My LG had light bleed in every single corner, which was very distracting when watching/playing something dark. This monitor is nice and uniform across the entire screen. So far I've only tried Doom 2016 with this monitor, but even so, I can unequivocally that the 144Hz refresh rate is a COMPLETE GAME-CHANGER. When I first booted up the game, I thought "yeah, it's smoother, I guess." But then, after playing for a little while, I set the monitor's refresh rate to 60, and it was almost painful going back.Fortunately, the monitor is compatible with g-sync, even though it's not advertised as such. However, I did have to reinstall my Nvidia drivers in order to get it working, since the G-sync option initially wasn't appearing for me in the control panel. Not a big deal, but just something to be aware of.For the price, this panel is unbeatable. I'm extremely satisfied with it so far.

Glorious gaming/works great with gsync
I’m using this for gaming with a 2060 and the freesync tech in it is awesome. Running read dead 2 it was registering 100fps on ultra at 1440p which the gpu won’t push on its own, but thanks to freesync it really feels like I’m playing at that frame rate. It also has multiple gaming presets that all look beautiful as well as some text ones for when I need to work on my monitor. The panel for color isn’t the best, but at $250 it’s a great deal. My 1080p 144hz with an IPS panel honestly doesn’t look any better. The reason I deducted one star is because it arrived with dead pixels, but Amazon is quickly shipping a new one and if that one has none it’s a 5 star monitor all the way.
