3 Ton Ratchet Puller With 35' Of 5/16" Amsteel Blue

This is without a doubt a 5 star product. The most heavy duty and well built come along I have ever owned or used. Rugged, durable, serviceable and made in the USA. This is a Wyeth-Scott product although it is sold by 3rd party retailers online. All the parts and accessories are available on the Wyeth-Scott website if you ever need them. One thing I didn't see when looking at other reviews is a comparison of exactly how big this product actually is, so I have provided a pic of it next to one of the cheap foreign made box store pullers for reference. Also, people have complained about the paint and the reason for that is stated right on the company website. This isn't a finished paint job meant to look pretty. It is simply dipped in a bucket of paint and pulled out. So expect it to chip off and stick to stuff as it is being used. In fact, I had to work the latches back and forth a few times to get some of the paint off the springs. It should be pulled out and tested and greased before using anyway to make sure it is functioning proper. You can see the grease I used in some of my pics. It was just white lithium grease in a spray can which is one of the options specified in the instructions it came with. Also, there was another review with a plastic tool box in it that has since been discontinued by the seller on Amazon. At least it was back in March 2023 when I ordered this. So I found another tool box that fits this perfectly. It is a Craftsman brand with metal latches and place for a lock. It also has storage trays in the lid for small parts like extra cotter pins and stuff that you may need. The part number is CMST20901 and the manufacturer is Craftsman. It is a 20" tool box and I included pictures of it if you want to check it out. It seems to be working well for me and the price was right. Overall very satisfied with this purchase and it expect it to last for years of hard work.

I have used various type of winches and come a longs. This one is at the top of the list. It’s heavy duty and very well made. I used it to pull a 50 plus foot elm tree that had been blown and snagged into another tree. My rough guess is 10k to 12k lbs. It pulled it out and dropped it to the ground. It is DEFINITELY worth the money. I can’t say enough about it.

Very substantial product. Expensive but it will be something you can pass down to your children.

This is not your Dad’s “come-a-long”. It’s a legit hand winch. Not something you’d choose to use if you have the option of the electric winch on your vehicle, but that’s the point, no parts to fail. If you just need to move your vehicle a couple feet to get out, no problem. If you had to move it a long ways you’re in for a long day. Also perfect for moving heavy stuff where your vehicle can’t access. Love the quality. Lifetime tool without a doubt.

This this is a beast. I purchased this because I didn't want to spend the money or do the modifications needed to mount a winch to my 4runner. Now, clearly there are loads of benefits you get from an electric winch that no manual winch will come close to matching. But this is a great second best. And I trust it way more than any of those other hardware store come-a-longs.So why 4 stars and not 5? It only comes with the short handle. I bought the extension handle from lifting.com; it's under $20 and an absolute necessity to save your back and arms. Considering the $400+ price of this winch, it's kind of ridiculous that the extension isn't included out of the box.

Here’s the revised version:When I saw the price, I was hesitant, but when I noticed it was made in the USA, I was willing to give it a try. This thing is a beast compared to those metal cable power pullers made in China. Being able to crank it, along with the tough non-metallic rope, made me feel safer in case of a snap. Was able to pull a 50ft tree without much effort.

Took a chance grabbing this on Amazon rather than directly from Wyeth-Scott with the cost coming in much cheaper, especially if you factor shipping costs. This looks and feels like a high quality tool that'll be passed down for generations. Picked up a 20" Husky all metal tool box from Home Depot (Model#: TB-520) which is rated to hold 100lbs and it fits everything I need. I've included some pictures with the box containing the winch, tow strap, and chains with some room to spare. It's a bit of an investment as it's not cheap, but it's by far the best tried and true model on the market. Highly recommend this product, just be sure you lubricate all the recommended points the product calls for!
