Nice productive little machine
Hooked the ice machine up and have had it running for a day. None of the reviews mentioned the inside ice hopper dimensions, which I was curious about:Front to back: 12”Width: 15”Bottom to front lip: 10 ½”Bottom to ice maker trip switch: 12”Yes, it looks small and measures smaller than I would have liked. Ran it overnight on +6 (highest setting for full cubes) and it held two full bags plus another 1/3 bag. I purchased the “Pinnacle Mercantile Plastic Ice Bags 10 Lb. with Draw String Closure Pack 100”. The bags are thinner than I would like, but held up to dropping a frozen bag of cubes a few times. I think they will be reusable one more time before they start to get holes. Perhaps if one was careful and gentle, they could be reused more. I am not careful or gentle so am looking for a sturdier bag.As it filled, the ‘blocks’ did not break up, so I had a lot of full blocks to break up before I could bag. I used a metal 24 Ounce aluminum scoop to bang on them. Not the easiest thing to do in such a small space. An 8 ounce ballpeen hammer did a much better job. I was worried about cracking the inside casing, but solved that below. With the cube set on “6” it made a cycle in 22 to 25 minutes. As others mentioned, it produces a surprising amount of ice. If one kept on top of it, I could see 6+ of the bags per day. My boat needs are 4 bags/day and this will more than keep up with that. The ice does melt in the hopper. Overnight (8 hours from empty hopper) at 75 environment degrees (as reported on the machine screen) there were 7 cups of drain water. The ice was ‘wet’ when bagged, but bagged and put in the freezer like that, it easily broke up by dropping the bag on the floor, once on each side. Pretty standard even for purchased ice.Noise level: It is pretty noisy. A louder than expected hum of the compressor/fan. Annoying if you are in the same room, not too noticeable if in an adjacent room. The blocks dropping in an empty hopper is a bit noisy. The machine came with nice foam padding in the packaging. I cut a piece to fit in the bottom (cutting out for the drain) and that eliminated that. It has not been a pain to scoop off of and I figure to take it out every few days and replace with a second one I made, to let the first one air out. This does, however, prevent the first blocks from breaking up as they hit the bottom though. The ballpeen hammer works well and with the foam padding on the bottom, I believe I have helped eliminate the possibility of cracking the inside casing.Overall, I initially give this little bugger a 5 rating. Time will tell how well it holds up. Came very well packaged, no damage. Hooked up easily, came with more than enough parts needed. I bought the recommended in-line filter, so have a ton of extra waterline. Screen is pretty simple to use. They are one touch buttons, no “menu” to scroll though to find something.Only negative so far is the height of the opening. It really needs to be raised to make scooping out easier. Could use a larger holding bin also, but with about an actual 25# of ice storage, fine for my needs Yeah, they say 33# but that would be all blocks broken up and manipulating the cubes to fill the hopper. Not going to happen in real life.Front grill, top and back are metal. Thin gauge, but still metal as advertised. Sides, door and frame are plastic. Fairly heavy plastic, but I would not put this in a heavy abuse location. Plastic door does slide up and lock open, is not removable. For my use, needing 4 bags/day for boat fishing, this will fit the bill. I can accomplish this bagging twice a day.For the other retired bachelors who go fishing every day, this is how I set mine up. Spare bathtub. Put 2x6’s across the tub to set the machine on, resting on pieces of the packing foam to cushion and prevent slipping. Puts the opening at a much more comfortable level for scooping out. Feed the filter/machine from the shower head, with a shutoff to the feed and separate shutoff for the shower spray. Drain water goes into the tub. I can clean the inside using the shower spray. I capped the tub faucet because in time, I know it will leak and I don’t need it. Hanging work light as it is easier to see inside the machine. Dropped ice while bagging falls into the tub.

Quiet operation and it makes a lot of ice!
I'm pleasantly surprised. Makes a lot of ice and it is not as loud as I thought it would be (loudest thing it does is dumping a load of ice but I find that rather satisfying, so it doesn't bother me!). Others have mentioned that although it makes almost 100 lbs/day, it only holds about 25 or 30 lbs in the hopper, and it quits making ice when the hopper is full. Just be aware it makes about 4 lbs ice /hr. Also the ice cubes do tend to stick together in sheets. It comes with a plastic scoop but I bought an aluminum one and use it to bust up the sheets, that works pretty well.I like the cube shape, great for soft drinks and cocktails. I recommend setting the cube size to max if you are using in a cooler or for food, they last a lot longer, plus the smaller cube size is actually the same size cube but with a hollow center, which melt a lot faster.Great little addition to our home - hopefully I'll never have to run up to the gas station to buy ice again!

good value for the price
so far so good. easy to hook up, it started making ice that night after I got it hook up and I was able to fill my cooler the next morning. I have a 52qt RTIC and it will fill it with some drinks already in it. That is every bit of ice from the machine. I have had to increase the ice density so it doesn't melt fast. Regular Ice from the store will last three days in this same cooler, day one with my own ice I had ice water when I got home. Denser Icer holds up a couple days but still not as good as store bought ice. The ice box lid (outside) seems to always have moisture on it. The scooper that comes with it is plastic and I don't see it holding up, it feel flimsy. For the price, I'd say it is a good value.

Already paid for itself
So far I love not having to go out and buy ice every day. Only issue I have is when it kicks the ice it comes out as a brick and doesn’t separate. The holding tank doesn’t stay cool enough to keep the ice very long unless you have your house frigidly cold. Not that big of a deal unless you’re trying to conserve water.
