Beware of Firmware released
Before purchasing this modem, do some research.1) The Model Number in the description is not the one that is provided. The description states 530HG4, but you actually get a 530H4. Although it may not seem there is too much difference, there is a BIG difference. The firmware release for the 530H4 is full of security holes and malware. If you do a search on that model number you will see a huge list of flaws and vulnerabilities.2) WAVLINK do not provide a firmware update for the model supplied anymore. You will get one for the 530HG4 model but not the 530H4. So how did i fix mine? I basically installed openwrt on it an endured alot of pain in the process. In order to help others here are my instructionsGoto WAVLINK website and download and installed the firmware for the 530HG4 model. You will need to rename the bin file to WN530H4_20201217.bin , as the installer does a check with filename and model number.Once this is installed (it wont be pretty, but you will need this file to fool the installer it is now a 530HG4 model). Proceed to installing openwrt.Download the openwrt software for the 530HG4 model and follow their install instructions. The chipsets are basically the same between the 530HG4 and 530H4. The only problem i found was the WAN port was not being read now. But that suited me fine as the other 4 ports were still fully functional.Once you have openwrt on there, install LUCI and make sure you have secured the interface. My router is now behaving sensibly and does not switch off/on by itself. which now makes me wonder if something else was accessing it.

Phenomenally good wifi range, better than some routers costing more twice as much
After years of makeshift solutions to solving the 'upstairs wifi' issue at home, thanks to a not fit for purpose Virgin Media 'Superhub' 3, I decided to sort it out.I put the superhub in modem mode, and used a TP Link Archer A7 (£85 when I bought it) in front of it as the actual router. This made a huge improvement to stability, but didn't fully solve the issue of range. So I used a couple of powerline adapters, and bought this router to act purely as an AP upstairs. This is working superbly, but what I hadn't counted on was *how* good the range of this device is. It covers the whole house (a reasonable sized family home), and the garden easily on its own. The TP link would be practically redundant were it not for the gigabit ethernet ports on the back of it being necessary for downstairs. I've used more than my fair share of routers over time, but this one - especially for the price - has impressed me the most.It was also very simple to set up - the only downside as I alluded to is that it's lan ports aren't gigabit ones, but for it's purpose for us that's fine.Highly recommended!

Huge improvement over stock Sky router
I have been using the stock router that came with my Sky broadband for years. It was only since becoming reliant on WiFi calling and trying out Google Stadia that I realised how poor the WiFi connection was. It would silently drop/disconnect and reconnect, making Stadia stutter and unplayable and WiFi calls unstable.I thought i'd give this router a try and noticed a difference straight away. It took minutes to set up (connects into an Ethernet port on the Sky router) and has been very stable in the few weeks I've had it. WiFi calls don't drop anymore and the Stadia is perfectly playable over WiFi. It has also extended the WiFi range to the back of the garden whereas before I would struggle to get signal at the front.Overall I am very happy with the router and am just gutted I didn't purchase one months ago.

Sterile addition to the local landfill
What a rubbish piece of tech this is, if you could call it tech. Mine is ready to be hurled out of the window and smashed with a hammer. When it worked, it was actually ok. Not too bad. Not fast by any means and prone to the odd blip but then these days, we use buffering time on IPTV as the opportunity to use the bathroom or refill a drink. What is unforgivable is that it is not once mentioned in the misleading advert for this item that a power cut would render the item useless. Having worked in computing for upwards of 20 years, you'd assume I could get it going but no.The original wireless networks refused to connect. The factory reset refuses to let me connect. The device won't let you log in unless you connect to the SSID broadcast by the router yet it will not broadcast it's IP. As such I am left with a useless brick. It isn't even a pretty brick. It would look out of place as a door stop. I do wonder if the clay pigeon shooting society might find a use for it but unfortunately, there is no use to be found for me anymore with this useless piece of rubbish. Avoid buying at all costs.

Good product
Worked great for about a year, but kept dropping the signal when I changed ISP. The support team were really helpful in trying to identify the problem (10/10), ended up sending me a new unit. The new unit had similar issues, so I think it may have been more to do with my ISP than the router (which was great up until then). I ended up buying an extender and ethernet splitter from a different brand - still have issues with my signal...

100 Mbps wifi is all you will get
I bought it thinking my Vodafone Gigabox was the weakest linkin my house which has a 1000mbps conection SIRO. I actually get 900 Mbs with my LAN and about 180 Mbps WAN. Unfortunately this router works but only gives you 100 Mbps wifi, which is less. I am keeping it because there is no fault with the product.I interpreted the description that I was going to get 800 Mbps wifi which is obviously not the case.

You get what you pay for
The router was easy to setup and the design is inline with any other cheap router. The router mentions that it can reach high speeds although I cant seem to break 80mbs over wifi and Because of the poor design choice of only having 1gigabit port it means that you will also not be able to reach over 100mbs through ethernet

Good product.
Great price on this router. I'm not 100% convinced about it's stability as it seemed to drop out a few times last time I used it in conjunction with a digital mixer. But then, many strange things happened that night in a haunted hotel.
