Don't buy this product. Read the other one-star reviews and you'll see the pattern emerge. The scanner stops working after 60 to 90 days which is too late to send it back to Amazon. Customer service from Neat is terrible. You'll get useless canned responses in email. You can only talk to a live person from 10 am to 5 pm Eastern Time. (You can get an additional two hour window if you're willing to throw good money after bad and buy their Neat Care premium service).

Dissappointing!
The other reviews are all correct this was probably a good idea ten years ago but the software is clunky the OCR takes a long time, 2min 41 seconds by my timer to process ten simple Hotel receipts which you then have to spend further time checking for accuracy before you could import into an expense report. For some reason on one Marriott bill always categorized as transportation, you cannot “map” into Excel as that feature was discontinued some time ago. The scanner is slow and comments on not having sheet feeders to keep the scans straight are correct, it looks messy and devotes one receipt to every page so if you want to print or even email the file size is large.I spent the best part of a day trying to make it work along with the inevitable tech calls to the Philippines where you can waste five minutes wading through the meus. First call the system just booted me out saying “Goodbye”!In short it does not save any time over manual entry into an existing Excel spreadsheet. Disappointed as I expected it to assist on a monthly chore! Save your money.

I bought this refurbished.....I'm very disappointed. Month # 1 a part popped off and I was never able to find it; it's down in the machine someplace and I had a LOT of problems with the paper inserting.....doesn't work as expected.I HATE IT!I HATE IT!I HATE IT!DO NOT PURCHASE RE-FURBISHED, --You don't know what the hell will pop off. I finally pulled it again today and the things makes this LOUD humming sound. The Supplying never even responded when I reported this pcs of crap years ago.

Going downhill fast...
The actual scanner itself is OK, but NEAT has really gone downhill over the last year. They've been practically forcing their customer base to subscribe to Neat Cloud service and pay monthly, and have discontinued the Desktop software. I bought this scanner for my dad, and have been using a Neat Desk scanner for several years. Many of my files are stored in NeatDesk, which now is a discontinued product. I have no interest to subscribe and pay for cloud when I have a redundant local storage array at home and in my office. I also will report that this software crashes often, even after several updates and support tickets with Customer Care.I would highly encourage you to look at other products and avoid Neat.

I thought this was going to be a great organization tool
No where in the product description did they relate you have to PURCHASE monthly data storage. The software that comes with the device is not being supported any longer, forcing their customers into a cloud-based service. On the website, they relate that you can still use their "Legacy" software if you want, but there is not customer support for it. So that means...there is no customer support for a device we JUST purchased, unless your will to spend EXTRA money on their cloud service. Scanners are cheap, I figured the initial cost was for their software...Oh, and on the Customer Service...there is no contact phone numbers. I guess it is all done by email? They do sell customer service plans for 49.95. I thought this was going to be a great organization tool...turned out to be a big joke.

Work horse in our office!
This scanner is a super star in our office. We have a bath & body company and this scanner is a work horse. There are so many documents that we have to scan for GMP and I'm not sure what we would do without it. I'm so sad that they are no longer making it. I REALLY wish that I purchase 2.

Purchased this in March of 2016 based upon their YEARS of commercial advertising trumpeting the convenience of the device and the ACCOMPANYING software. There were other activities in my life that prevented me from trying to use this scanner until now. In April of 2016 it seems that the company changed everything and I cannot even run the software I purchased unless I agree to their monthly service fees. I don't want or need a subscription service to store my files. And since Amazon won't replace or allow return/credit of the useless device, let me echo the other reviews that state I WILL NEVER PURCHASE PRODUCTS BY THE NEAT COMPANY.

REFUND MY MONEY !
This thing does NOT work !! It powers on and that is all. All you see are the two lights on the front for the SCAN button and the PDF button. I am trying to find out who I have to contact to get my mobney back for this unit and the rerfund on the $127.00 I spent on the program I had to download just to make the scanner work. The program told me that my Windows 10 computer was not compatable with the LEGACY program. NOW I want some answers !
