Ardderchog! / Excellent!
Had read very favourable reports on the Yum Asia Bamboo Rice Cooker on various 'review' sites, and having purchased one, I can concur with those positive comments. It's compactness, ease of use and cleaning is a big plus and it is ever so easy to use. Perfectly cooked rice each time. We cannot fail the unit! Absolutely delighted with our purchase. Yum Asia's Customer Service is excellent too! we had a query before placing our order and an e-mail response was received in a matter of minutes. Thanks Yum Asia!.

Amazing Rice Cooker
Wow âŚâŚ I am so impressed with this rice cooker. Making rice has never been so easy, no longer standing over a pot at the stove. Pre-set when you want your rice ready, pop in your rinsed rice, add water and thatâs it. Itâs fully cooked at the time you specified (and if something changes, it has a keep warm function after itâs cooked). As for the taste and texture âŚâŚ it is amazing đ. It even makes my cheap supermarket bought easy cook rice 10x better. Itâs an expensive gadget for what it is âŚ. but it does slow cook, bake cakes and other options if you are so inclined. However, itâs a gadget you will use time and time again if like me, you eat a lot of rice. As for the cleaning up afterwards, itâs so simple as the pot inside is non stick so itâs just a quick rinse in hot soapy water. 5âď¸

Perfect rice every time
When considering expensive kitchen appliances I always worry that I won't use it enough to justify the cost. Will it be worth the money and the precious countertop space? Or will it end up in a cupboard or the attic. The Yum Asia Bamboo rice cooker has earned its place on our countertop. We cook rice more often now because it has made it so much easier to do so.It's not that it's faster or that cooking rice in a saucepan is so hard, but that it doesn't require any attention and that the results are always perfect. Measure the rice and water, rinse the rice, add both to the cooker, set the program and leave it to it.This is particularly useful when it comes to types of rice that take a lot of time or attention like brown rice or risotto rice. The Yum Asia Bamboo will make either of these to perfection without any intervention from the cook. And long-cooking programs like brown rice or porridge can be programmed in advance so that e.g. it's ready when you come home from work. The cooker is great for making large quantities of rice, which is perfect when you have guests, but is trickier for small quantities; There are no gradations on the bowl <1 cup (2 pax) so it can be difficult to measure out the right amount of rice and water for just 1 or two servings.Provided that you measure the rice/water correctly the rice always cooks perfectly and is never soggy or overcooked. This is a bit of a revelation if you're not accustomed to eating flawless rice. I can't eat take-away rice any longer and if anyone brings it to our home I have to cook my own instead. It's not all about the rice, the Yum Asia Bamboo cooks steel-cut porridge oats and other things too. There are some recipes with the included user manual and more on the affiliated website greedypanda.co.uk but there aren't many English-language recipes and they aren't always straightforward to follow.Other features I enjoy are the touch-display, the musical chimes when selecting programs, and the sleek rose-gold finish.

Delicious rice - GABA function works too!
I was skeptical of the GABA rice function, as I know this to take 3-21 hours to normally make the rice sprout, however, I am extremely impressed at the GABA function as it cooks brown rice into GABA in just 2.5-3hours! I can see little sprouts on my rice, and I was absolutely over the moon when I saw it.I came from the Sakura, I feel like itâs worth the extra money if you havenât got it already, but not worth an upgrade, as I didnât realise you trade the soup and yoghurt functions for the GABA and Yumami. That being said, this is a fantastic piece of kit and makes very tasty rice! The one main feature that I miss from the Sakura is the âfinishingâ time estimation bar. It was nice to know how much my rice cooker has done, even if it was just a loading bar style. However, the 10 minute timer still is there for when it is done.If youâre dubious of getting a rice cooker as youâre afraid you wonât use it - you absolutely will. I rarely ate rice before this (as british rice is atrocious) but I use the rice cooker at least twice a week now!I cannot rate YumAsia highly enough.A side note, I would also order via their website, as the delivery with amazon was atrocious, and they missed the delivery the first time, and then the second I was sent Christmas lights instead of the rice cooker and it was an ordeal to sort out a refund.
