Beginner Lead Guitar Method: Learn to play guitar solos - The musical way (Learn How to Play Rock Guitar)

Since I had played rhythm guitar before I wanted to take a try at lead guitar. Although I am still in the first part of the book, I have found it to be very easy to understand. It was easy to download the examples to hear how the lessons should sound. I should note that it is Not a beginners book to learn Basic guitar. You should know your way around a guitar, like basic cords, the fret board etc. An included CD would have been nice for those without access to the internet.

Very advanced, hard to understand at first but now I have a handle on things.Lots to learn, I love it bit 4 stars because this is not for beginners

I recently purchased Simon Pratt's Beginner Lead Guitar Method to give me help in learning to play lead guitar. I started playing mostly folk style guitar (cowboy chords) about 20 years ago as a self taught adult and never had any formal musical training growing up. Last year I got my first electric guitar ( Ibanez AS73) and started taking lessons from an accomplished professional jazz player. He introduced me to the pentatonic minor blues scale and told me to learn it inside and out. What I have found extremely helpful in Simon's book is that he gives a series of simple, well explained exercises on how to develop the skills to get that done. I feel like my understanding of the pentatonic scale is now developing faster than before. Therefore, I recommend this book to other beginner level guitar players.

Great book for beginners as it introduces all the basic lead guitar techniques.

Great introduction into lead guitar. Joseph's books are so well written and easy to understand for beginners. I have read many of them and they all help me "get it" when trying to understand something. The examples are so well thought out and will definitely take you to the next level if you follow his guidelines and do the exercises with audio he provides for free in addition to the book. 6$ ebooks to learn so much is worth it!

I like the way the book starts out with having you learn a minor pentatonic scale and then shows you many different ways to play it. I have enjoyed playing with the backing tracks that come with the book as well. I've only had the book a few days and I feel my finger dexterity getting better getting better. Great book! When I get comfortable with the material in this book, I'll definitely get another one.

I never thought i would be able to play lead. After going through this book...I proved myself wrong! There is so much out there on learning the guitar. These series of books offer an excellent introduction to the many methods and styles for guitar. Simple, straightforward exercises, highly recommend these books at any beginning level.

I wish I bought this book a lonnnng time ago and so many more, two days of having this I can create my own solos and I and I have a complete understanding of improvisation all of a sudden it just clicked in my head, only bad thing about this book is I struggle to sleep because all I can now think about is melodies and solos

Good book to learn from.

Just what I have been looking for. I have been playing guitar chords for seems like forever without getting into a different type of playing. This is just the book to help do that easily and quickly.

what can I say .I opened the book and in minutes I was playing the blues WOW! I only wanted to play melodys from tabs but this book as given me the confidence to go further thanks
