Using this style thumb throttles do not tire the thumb versus the up down type. They have no voltmeter but just use the other thumb throttle for the voltmeter and I cut off the thumb piece and place on the other side of handle bars using only the yellow and black wires for your battery reference. They are the same action as the quad runners and 3 wheelers have. Safer than the twist throttle, because the bike falls with your hand on twist throttle, the bike takes off. If you can, hook up your cruise control button on the left side for easier and even better results.

It's not very great. I guess it does work. But you get what you pay for...The reasons I don't like it very much:* It's a hall sensor instead of potentiometer so the range is kind of "jumpy". You need to do some smoothing in software to get it feeling decent.* The mount is not split. If your bars are slightly too wide you are out of luck. It doesn't clamp down on the bars with room for size differences but rather a solid aluminum piece with a small set screw.* There is a decent dead zone at the low and high sides leaving the useable throw smaller than it seems. I would rather get voltage differences without the dead zones and implement my own dead zones in software to have the ability to tune the overall throw.I have another one of these 108X throttles from elsewhere and it is identical. I think they all come from the same source anyways. Though, I am hoping to find a better quality throttle in this style so I hope I am wrong!

In the beginning it worked, and then, if you ride, while holding a throttle throttle goes to far and loses its place in other words it doesn’t stay tight.

2 stars because the product SEEMS like it should be good. I ordered one and when it didn’t work, I blamed myself. Ordered 2 more just in case and tested them straight out of the box with my multimeter. No resistance changes anywhere along the press. Shame because these seemed so perfect for what I needed.
