Crystal Quest Filter System Seems Durable
The Crystal Quest under-sink triple filterThe pros are:(1)Seems durable(2)Fairly simple to install.(3)Inexpensive, industry standard filters can be used.(4)Three filter housings gives you the ability to use a variety of filters such as for removing minerals, removing fluoride, removing nitrates, etc.The cons are:(1) It comes with a saddle tap which punctures a copper line. This doesn't work on stainless steel or flexible lines. Other brands come with a screw-in Tee fitting. I needed to separately buy the tee (with shutoff) from another company for $8.(2) Not possible to know if filter is in place inside the housing.(3)I have run 10 gallons through the system and the filtered water tastes worse than the untreated water. If it doesn't get better I will swap out filters to see which one is the problem. To install the spigot I had to drill through a porcelain-covered cast iron sink. While the internet is full of horror stories, this was not that difficult. I completed the hole in under 20 minutes using carbide-tipped masonry drill bits.

Very Good Product
The Crystal Quest 8 performs very well. The water tastes great and the flow rate is very good. It mounted easily under the sink; however, the linkage on the outflow side (inflow side as well) are poor quality and leaked repeatedly until I purchased a replacement at the local hardware store for $5.00. Since that time it has performed very well with no leaks or other problems. It is frustrating that this otherwise high quality product skimped on two very inexpensive parts. However, I still strongly recommend this water filter.

Been a great system never any issues except what others had mentioned about it not having all the parts needed to install, but that was an easy fix. Had it for over two years and very happy with it.

I woke up to the sound of what sounded like a waterfall
I wish I could give a lower rating. The filter worked for about one year. Then, at around two AM last Sunday, I woke up to the sound of what sounded like a waterfall. I groggily walked through the house toward the sound and stepped into about a half inch of water in my kitchen. The middle filter had randomly broken off at the base, and water was squirting all over under the sink and flowing onto the floor. We turned off the water, but I had been standing in the water with our Roomba plugged in and could have been electrocuted. We were able to vacuum up the water and sweep it outside pretty quickly, but I can't believe this company sells a product that is so poorly made. Thank goodness I woke up. If I hadn't woken, the water would have ruined the walls and wood floors. It also was ridiculously hard to install, and we didn't have the right parts initially. We had to do a lot of work to get this thing installed, and it ruined our sink cabinet and flooded our kitchen. Please consider the reviews on the site. This is a terrible product that might work for a while, but when it breaks, it will be bad.

Excellent filter, best pricing
I looked into many different filters before buying this one. This is easily one of the best water filters out there for the following reasons:Pros:+ Lowest/Very low $/gallon costs (because of low cost of unit, inexpensive filters and long filter life)+ Simple installation (for an under the counter filter that is)+ Filtered water tastes normal+ Takes standard filters, so you can purchase generic filters down the road (versus only-works-with-our-system filters that do the same functionality at a higher price)Cons:- For the water inlet, they ship a piece that clamps and punctures the copper pipe to draw water. This is fine if you have a copper tube, most folks would have regular piping, so a regular T junction should be there (or a different SKU with that part)Tips:- The easy-snap connectors are great but if you've never used/seen them before it's easy to mess them. If in doubt, test it out before the final installation. I had a leak and thought the connectors were faulty. In reality I hadn't done the easy-snap connections properly.

WARRANTY VOID if not installed by a licensed plumber!
WARNING! Warranty is void unless a licensed plumber does the installation! Critical information is omitted from the product description and only divulged in a 4 page Installation and Operation Guide shipped with unit. The Installation and Instruction Guide also states; "To eliminate possible water and property damage, use the following preventative steps and devices: Install a water pressure regulator/control valve inline to keep the water inflow pressure at 60 psi or less. Install an auto shut-off/leak detector for undersink water filter applications.” The plumbing connections are small, plastic push-in parts and tubing and since the instructions tell users to install an auto shut-off/leak detector and a pressure valve, this clearly demonstrates the company does not have confidence that their system won’t leak. If you buy this water filter system you should plan on spending an another $200.00 for a plumber and additional parts. Before you purchase, have the seller send you a copy of the installation instructions in advance and read everything, very carefully. Especially the fine print! I raised these issues in a constructive manner with Sparkling Clean Water Filters, the seller I purchased from and the last word I got from them was; “We are not going to do anything for you”. Lesson learned.

Will cause water damage and dangerous to your health
Standard filters do not fit this product. They will rattle around- most people won’t notice that they don’t fit because they can’t see if they seat tight against the housing. All they have to do is shake it back-and-forth to find out they don’t fit .This is dangerous because they don’t know that it’s not filtering the water. Also the fittings on the inlet and outlet do not have enough threads and will blow apart when you’re not home and caused water damage like mine did. I got taken by the seller for $118 and I’m sure they know by now that this product is junk. I missed the window to take back the product because I installed it two years after I bought it. If the seller was honest they would buy it back .
