Excellent adatper. Hosa does it again!
I use this adapter to send audio signal from a laptop's 1/8 audio out jack to a Digidesign recording unit's 1/4 inputs. It does an excellent job of splitting the signal to left and right (these are labeled by the way and color-coded). This allows me to send any sound, MP3, or CD music directly to ProTools from the laptop. Setup a stereo Aux track in ProTools, and it is simply smashing. However, you could also use this to connect an MP3 player or laptop to a host of other devices such as PAs, mixing consoles, and so on, as long as the device has two 1/4 inputs. I was a little concerned with the 10 ft length (they make a shorter one also), but it performs perfectly. In fact, I am actually splitting the signal from the laptop with a stereo 1/8" splitter (Hosa of course, see Amazon link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000068O5G/ref=oss_product): one stereo signal goes to the receiver in my stereo system, the other to the recording unit. There is no signal loss, no interference (aside from the silly AC connection on the laptop which I remedied by adding a docking station), and the sound quality is excellent.Once again I am extremely happy with the quality, durability, price, and performance of yet another Hosa adapter.

Effective for the short term
I own a concert production company. Just like you, I am always looking for a good deal. Do you wonder why some cables cost ten times as much as others? Me too. I am long past believing that certain cables "sound better." I have been at this for quite a few years and let me tell you the majority of professional audio engineers do not buy the hype. What does matter is build quality and reliability. I own a lot of Hosa cables and adapters. Hosa is not regarded as a manufacturer of pro-grade or road worthy cables. But let me focus on this product. I love the design. I can plug a laptop or MP3 player right into my sound board. Each 1/4 inch jack goes into the board and you get true stereo output. I am not, however, a fan of the Hosa molded jacks. You know..the kind where you can't unscrew the jack to re-solder the cable. I have had problems with several Hosa cables with molded ends. But at the price they charge I can afford to throw it away rather than solder on my own jacks. I have never used their warranty. Maybe I should try it sometime. My point is this. Essential cables always go bad at the worst time. I always have a back-up plan. Knowing that the Hosa molded end cables are prone to early failure I always carry a spare.

Worked great
I DJ and needed to be able to adjust the music while doing karaoke, to separate vocal channels from music channels. I plugged this into channel number seven, it worked and sounded great. I would order again, highly recommend.

iPod to Anything
i bought this Hosa 1/8 to TRS cable to connect my ipod to my sound system. With the cable i can connect any device with a 1/8" jack to my studio equipment or PA speakers. This includes iphones, ipods, iPads, laptops, etc.Build quality is good, although i have old hosa cables that have shorts in them. So no telling how long this cable will last.Sound quality sounds just as good as the mogami and monster cables in the studio. If you need to connect an iPod or laptop to an audio system that uses 1/4" jacks, this is a no brainer.

Good quality to value ratio.
I have been using Hosa cables for a number of years now and the quality always seems great. Have yet to have any of them fail. Cables are nice and flexible. Plugs are good and solid, no wiggle. Prices are usually pretty fair, too. Can't complain!

Works as expected
This product provides a transition from a 1/8 inch stereo plug to two 1/4 inch mono plugs. This was exactly what I needed to connect a Yamaha FGDP-30 to two channels of a Tascam DP008EX digital recorder. Works perfectly, and the materials and build quality seems very satisfactory. Sweetwater has a similar cable for 3 times the price. The price for this is more reasonable.

Does the Intended Job Well
I use this cable to feed my MX49 synth's dual 1/4" TS (left/right mono) outs to a preamp that takes a 3.5mm stereo in. This cable does that task perfectly. I can hear no degradation in sound quality. It is in my home studio so I'm not really worried if they are road worthy, only that they do degrade the sound. They work great.

Hoss makes a great cable
When you need a quality connection these cost a little more but have better build qualities than in crappy imports. May I suggest you pay more and buy once rather than learn that using crap you pay twice.
