Works well, but is unnecessary if you have the technological know-how.
I planned to mod and heavily overclock my Switch, and bought this beforehand just to be safe.If you have the knowledge and capability to take apart your Switch and replace the (terrible) stock thermal paste with something decent, that alone will drop the temperatures so significantly that this item is no longer necessary, even while playing intensive games, and using the maximum overclocks allowed with a modded switch. This item is effective enough that I think it would be great for people with an overheating Switch that don't have the tools/knowledge to take it apart and repaste it, though.Word of advice: Install it backwards and/or cover the display with some tape, the blue LED display is extremely bright and constantly flickers back and forth between two numbers, creating a slightly annoying strobe light.

Works perfectly, remember to set to high speed
My internal fan broke on my Nintendo Switch after ~6 years. The system would overheat after 10-20 minutes when playing intensive games like Zelda. This fan works perfectly, as long as you remember to set it to top speed (press up arrow a few times every time you turn it on) ... I can play indefinitely !It is not much use in handheld mode but I find the Switch runs hotter in the cradle. Finally today I took an hour to watch a youtube video and replace my internal fan, but this external fan was great and bought me a few extra months of video games when I didn't have the time or energy to take the Switch apart.

Actually pretty good for keeping your switch cool.
This little fan is actually pretty good for keeping your switch at cooler temperatures, the stand that does puts pressure on your switch but I haven't noticed any damage caused by it however if you are nervous over that you can balance the fan on your switch without the stand just be aware that it will fall over pretty often if you bump into your table or the switch. There was one problem with the fan that is it made a loud clicking noise when the fan was on after I dropped it one day but after a week or two of still using it and shaking it every once in awhile the clicking went away.

It Works Very Well!
I've been using a dock fan for my Nintendo Switch for over a year now and the bearing went out on the original fan. I repaired it by replacing the tiny 50mm case fan with one I found on eBay; but it wasn't an exact fit and took some minor modifications. However, the bearing became loud and grindy in that fan too. I have given up on dock fans that clip onto the back of the dock and merely blow air at the back of the Switch. It has the same effect as if you were merely putting your Switch in front of a box fan or pedestal fan. A traditional "dock fan" style add-on only cools the plastic backside of the Switch. It doesn't move any air into or out of the console. The imbedded fan still does 💯 of that work. So, I really wanted to try this fan to see if it made any difference.By principle alone this fan should accomplish more cooling because it seals to the Switch above the exhaust vent. I'm using that term lightly as it's not exactly a snap on situation. More or less the shroud prevents leakage fairly well. It's a vortex style fan so it "pulls" the air out of the console. It basically aids the internal fan in pulling air through the system thus helping circulate more cfm of fresh air through the console than just having the stock cooler. Well I must say, I am impressed! The good:Adjustable speed from 600rpm up to 6000rpmThree simple buttons for control: increase, decrease, on/offYou can still plug in a headset and use this device. The shroud is more than big enough to cover the entire exhaust port and not obscure the headphone jack.Micro USB power cord included. It is meant to plug into the back of the console dock in-between the HDMI and power cord and it is just the right length for this.Digital display shows both current rpm of the fan and the temperature OF THE AIR EXITING THE CONSOLE in degrees Celsius. (This cannot read internal CPU or GPU temps.)At the time of writing, it's only $15 and that's fairly cheap.Actually cools the consoles internal temp (probably; see below). The bad:Only reads the temperature of the air departing the console. This is very understandable, but it wasn't clearly stated anywhere that it only reads air temp and so might confuse people. This is not a "radiator" fan. I think this is a mistranslation or misunderstanding of what a radiator is. Nowhere anywhere on this device is there a heatsink or metal fins of any kind. That is perfectly fine as it doesn't need anything like that to function well and do a good job, but it's description is somewhat misleading. This is purely a vortex fan.Temperature is in celcius only, no Fahrenheit :(The display automatically toggles between air temp and rpm of the fan. There is no way to just display one or the other. There is no pass through extra USB port on the device meaning this eats 1 of your 3 ports. It is reasonably loud when turned on and running full speed. It's probably impossible to get away from this when it's spinning at 6000 rpm, but it might irk some people. Its not noticable at all at 4000 rpm though. The verdict: I think it works really well. Compared to Nyko intercooler or any other knock off brand fan that clips onto the back of the dock and just blows air at the back of the console, this thing rocks! Assuming the temperature sensor is accurate then the air temp never got above 36 degrees Celsius (97 Fahrenheit) when at 6000rpm and at 1000 rpm never went above 42 degrees Celsius (108 Fahrenheit). This was all when playing Fortnite, which is taxing on the little console. That's impressive and shows that the faster this fan runs, the cooler the air gets. One could assume that since the air is being pulled directly from the console cooling system, the internal temp does indeed drop. That means this fan actually works to cool the console while dock fans do nothing. Now this is day 1 of my ownership and so far I'm impressed. The "bad" things in this case are trivial at their worst and in my opinion don't really warrant loosing a star. The real test now is seeing how long this fan lasts before its bearings or something else fails. For now a 5 star review is appropriate as it exceeded my expectations as to how much it would actually cool the console.

Works really well
Can watch the temps drop on the display, also feel the heat being pushed out by the fan.

Tight Fit
Fan works great the problem is the padding on both sides of the mount for the fan makes it too tight and makes the Switch bend a bit in the dock…. I had to use Goof Off and remove the back side padding so it would not bend my Switch.

It works
I was skeptical. Works super well and now we can play games with the switch docked again without overheating.

Perfect solution for an annoying problem
The fan went out in my switch which causes it to overheat during extended play. This little fan solved that issue in seconds. It does make a little noise but I normally don’t even notice it. Great price, easy install, problem solved.
