Exact replacement power supply for a Dell Inspiron 545s desktop pc. Everything matched my OEM power supply perfectly. Same manufacturer, model number, voltage, amps. etc. All wiring was exactly the same as well. Note - the OEM supplied wiring was tight... just long enough to reach the Hard Drive and DVD. This new power supply is exactly the same. Wire length is tight, but works just fine. Just removed the old power supply, and installed the new one. PC fired right up. Before, it was totally dead. No power, no fans, nothing. To troubleshoot the problem, I removed the old power supply and tried jumping it per instructions on the web. Again no power at all. Totally dead. Next I opened up the old failed power supply and saw at least 3 blown capacitors. The tops were raised and you could see brown leakage all over. So the power supply was the problem. The only thing I didn't know was whether or not the motherboard was affected. Thankfully, it wasn't because the new power supply fired up the pc perfectly. The old power supply was 5+ years old, so hopefully this one will last that long also.

Worked fine. I chickened out on installing it myself; the techie I had do it said the lines were a little shorter than the factory power supply, but who knows if he wasn't just blowing smoke to make it seem like he did me a bigger favor.

installed perfectly, computer came on -no problem. Saved all my work and works wonderful. I am so happy that it worked the price was perfect. Better to pay this amount than a new computer. Thanks for great product. My Dell Inspirion bought 6 years ago stopped working and didn't know why, so I checked a youtube video on how to check it and found that it was the power supply, I ordered and it was perfect!! did not get the classic touch screen stylus pen and I just notice it oh well must pay attention and not get to excited about recieving your order always check everything is in the box.

This was an exact replacement for the power supply in my Dell Inspiron 531S Desktop which had failed. That machine is old but has a couple of programs running under XP that I need occasionally for testing. It arrived very quickly and was easy to replace. Good advice from an earlier review: One at a time just unplug each cable from the old PS and replace with the cable from the new one. You will have to reset your clock and probably boot drive order in the BIOS. There are lots of sources of help online if you need assistance.

Bought for Dell 530 S six months ago. installed easily and worked fine until I turned it on yesterday. Sparks shot out of the power supply, burned it and the motherboard out luckily the breaker tripped or I would be the next poster child for an insurance commercial having my insurance agent giving me some hot chocolate and wrapping me in a wool blanket with my house on fire in the background . That is how a cheap replacement becomes very expensive. On the other hand my monitor has never been so clean and lint free in a long time (Sarcasm intended) ;-P

Had to replace original Dell PS as fan was starting to go out. Purchased a comparable PS with the name ReplacePower but the fan ran fast and loud, couldn’t put up with the noise. Found this one by Bestec, matches original exactly including the quiet fan. We’ll worth the price.
