Lucy Clay Slicer is excellent!
This makes my polymer slices perfect. Even though you operated manually, you can still control the thickness or thickness of your slices. And it made my work lot more professional. I am having a blast, experimenting with this and thinking of items to create. Expensive but worth it for me!

Really thin slices
I've been looking for ways to evenly slice my canes and this works well. I did not really want to pay this much for working with canes but slicing by hand wasn't working. This does the job. Actually I still get a thrill from using it after over a month.Cons: I still have to use waste clay to get my short canes up to the blade. There is no way to measure slice thickness. I did as recommended and painted a line on my knob and I'm adding a measuring guide on the slicer. It takes up some big real estate in an area that has little space. Don't use anything with glitter or inclusions as it will get dragged by the blade.Overall: I think this will be worth my money considering what I paid experimenting to get even cane slices, marxit tool, lego slices...

I like and use it but.......
I love my slicer BUT was disappointed that the measurement guide that used to be on the advancement dial was no longer in the design. I also wish that the dial was just a little more user friendly to get EXACT measurements on each slice instead of just "close". You know, one and a half turns is never the exact same measurement from slice to slice. Unfortunately, I also bent the threaded screw a little on the measurement dial when I was attaching and tightening it so be careful when you're tightening it! Now it's like a flat tire feeling as you turn the dial. :( Other than that I do like it and use it whenever I slice cane.

Worth it
I completely recommend it, it cuts perfectly. The only downside is that there's really no way of measuring the width of one slice with the other, you have to sort of guess according to how much you turn the lever. So what I did, and recommend you to do is that I adapted a small laser line marker on one side and a grid mat on the bed surface, that way I can sort of measure how much to turn the lever, it's not perfect, but its better than just guessing. I got my level market here at amazon, it's called HF tools 93242 Laser Cutting Straight Guide LINE Mark Attachment for Power Tool Saw Laser Light, White and I got the grid mat from the sewing area at Hobby Lobby, I just glued it to contact paper, cut is to size, and sticked it on the board. I hope this works for you!! Happy crafting!!

No customer support
I bought this last September, paying $250. Since I don’t cane much, it got little use until recently. It seemed okay for a bit, then got wobbly and then completely came apart. I filed a complaint with the LucyClay company and was not only refused replacement, but accused of lying about the amount and type of use( I must have abused it since they can’t tell me how this could happen.) This is the most unpleasant customer service I’ve ever experienced, not to mention that I’m now out $250.

Excellent
My first exposure to a slicer for my polymer clay canes was that fabulous $800 one, but couldn’t afford it. The Dan Cormier (peeler type) slicers are good - I have both, but this Lucy works much better, love it. I did have to do some jerry rigging though. Lucy, there’s no way to measure the thickness of the slices! And your website doesn’t offer any additions to purchase to help with that. So I mounted a metric ruler under the sliding table that helps me gauge slice thickness, not perfect but helps.. Lucy products are dependable quality, good purchase.
