Lovely, not stabbing, pin brush. Fur comes off it super easily too. Good for long hair dogs.
I was a bit reluctant to buy this brush due to the price, but our fluffy Samoyed mix (long hair, double coat) was not enjoying grooming time with the random pin brush we had gotten in the store. I can see why as it really hurt my skin when I tried it on my arm. I had resorted to using our cats pin brush as it was slightly less sharp, but unfortunately it was not very big or as soft as the pins on this brush. This brush does not hurt. Every pin end is rounded. I tried it on my arm and it felt ok, so I tried it on the dog. He actually licked my face. He then let me brush most of his body in one sitting. That was huge because usually he'd get very irritated by me brushing him and get up and walk away. This brush made his fur, which we washed a few weeks ago, look brand new. It got so soft and lovely. It also seemed to get down in the depths of his beard area where it can get particularly dense and no brush I have can get all the way in there. The fur that accumulates on the brush comes off like a dream. I used to have to take a comb and scrape it out of the other pin brush. This is not like that. It almost floats off the brush. That alone is just wonderful. Plus no sharp pins to stab me as I remove the fur from the brush. The fur also accumulates on the brush very nicely, not jammed in.As I said, even up until I was opening the package I was thinking that's a pricey brush, but it is worth it. After using it just a few times, I say it is so worth it and your dog will be so happy. Each time I used it on him, I got my face licked and he actually stayed there looking content. This has never happened before.I now look forward to brushing him and, with such a fluffy, double-coated, long-haired dog, I brush him almost daily. The handle is feels nice in the hand. It looks like a well-made quality brush. The pins are 27cm, which are a bit longer than the basic one I had gotten in the store. They aren't oddly long in person, they look normal.

The length of the pins are the key.
Ok I was skeptical but I read the review that said to brush your fore arm with this brush 10 times and then brush your arm 10 times with your current cheap, off the rack, dog brush and I cannot believe the difference. This brush is rigid and strong but the tips are smoothed out so that they gently contact the skin below the hair. I have a GIANT 80lb Rough Collie that has a very dense undercoat. We were having lots of trouble brushing him. He hated it and would squirm around. We had to do it fast while he was eating and never got it all the way done. With this brush, he lays on his side and lets me brush him all the way. He's never been this easy. We wrote his name on the brush so we can take it with him to drop off at the groomer. May as well make their life easier also! THE MAIN BENEFIT of this brush is the LENGTH of the pins and the smooth finish of the ends of the pins. They reach all the way through both layers and they untangle his hair without a fight. This point cannot be overlooked. For a dog with a double rough coat, you have to be able to get through both layers! He likes getting his hair brushed now. After he's all brushed out, we can move ahead to a rake brush to pull out loose undercoat much more easily because there's way less tangles in the top coat. I had kept telling my husband we needed a pin brush with tougher, deeper pins and I found one!! Yes it's expensive but it's a really excellent brush and worth it!!! You'll immediately notice a difference both in the hair and in the willingness of your pet to be brushed. We also have 2 small yorkies. One has long hair. We use this brush on them as well because of the effectiveness but more refined pins. So it's good for all dogs but especially for double coats.

10/10, no notes
I am a fan for life of the CC brushes - I have this 20 mm for my mini-Aussie, and just purchased another as a gift for a friends Pomeranian mix, and a 27 mm for a friends Golden. They are so smooth, so easy to use and clean. After just a few minutes of brushing you can see the natural texture coming through and the tangles coming out. If you pair this with the CC II, it’s a match made in heaven for double coated breeds. I’m a customer for life and have added these as a go-to gift for dog friends.

Must have for chow chows
I own a chow chow and about 20 different brushes. Honestly, you only need 2. Any old rake from the pet store, and then this brush. That's it. Get rid of everything else. The length of the bristles is perfect for her longer fur and it brushes without ripping. She doesn't particularly like her tummy fur being brushed, and this is the only brush she allows near her stomach. This brush loosens and detangles her fur, and then the rake will pull out all the discarded fur.Chows are temperamental, and so are their fur. This brush is pricey, but it's worth it. If you get this brush, you don't need the Chris Christensen slicker brush (which we also have and is also much more expensive).

Will save me trips to the groomer and my Pomeranians love it!
I have two Pomeranians with very different coats. One hardly sheds, and has a thinner coat that gets tangled and matted easily and almost impossible to brush out without hurting him. The other sheds about 2-3 times a year, and has a super thick coat and fine haired undercoat. I was looking for something that would work for daily brushing for both of them. I have tried combs, alternating curved tooth comb/brush, and slicker brushes - even the Chris Christensen brand, and all seemed to work, however would take me hours to get through their entire coats. This brush covered bigger areas, and allows me to brush them much more quickly, without having to work through tiny sections one at a time. It is so gentle and not too pointy to brush directly on skin. Both of my Pomeranians do not like being brushed, however I started using this on one of them and he laid down and rolled over within a few minutes for me to brush his belly he loved it so much! I also purchased Chris Christensen’s Ice Ice Leave-In Detangler and Isle of Dogs Detangler to use with the brush. Highly recommended!!
