Prior to discovering these latches, most of my gates were secured with that chain thing they come with. Sure, the chain works, but it does not support the gate and takes two hands to open and close which is a big problem from horseback or even carrying a feed bucket. And then I discovered these latched!! I ordered one to try it out. And I have since replaced all the latches on my farm with either these or the one way latches. They are very easy to install, very high quality and work great!! I can open the gate quickly with one hand and just push it shut and it latches on it's own. And while the gate is shut, it's fully supported which will prevent sagging. What a wonderful invention.

We were in need of a self latching gate latch, but had no "out of the box" solution for our gate.1. Metal Pipe Gate.2. Less than 1.5 inches between post and gate.This latch is so sturdy with just enough play, wiggle room that i could do the following without hampering performance.1. Shortened catch peg by just under 0.5 inches.2. Cut lower guide plate by 0.25 inches.3. Flexed catch front plate by 0.25 inches.This allowed the late to operate in the tight location on our gate. If you cannot find one to fit your application due to measurements, and you are handy with tools to cut metal. This latch can be made to work in a variety of applications.

These latches are straightforward to install and work as advertised once in place.

The media could not be loaded. I like both the lockable and no lock version. The gates automatically latch when i push the gate closed. If the latch gets a little gummy, I spray it down with some wd-40 or silicone spray and it glides right in. I've had it the latch since 2014 and so far so good. Outdoors year round in northeast area

Easy to install, bolts onto gate and then screws into post. Does not come with lag screws for wood post.Make sure gate is tightened and where it needs to be before screwing plate into post, drill guide holes first for lags.Similar price to local ranch store.Feels like good quality and thick metal. Not sure on how paint will hold up but I will update if it rusts.Functions great, very happy with it. Harder for horses to jimmy open than the original gate chain. Also easier to remember to close for that forgetful rancher who leaves the chain unlocked and horses escape at 3am.I Will update if issues arise.

Perfect for keeping the way to smart dog from leaving without us. Adventures are for family! Easy to use even with hands full. Very sturdy.
