WOW DOES THIS WORK
This is LOUD. The cable is a bit short, but so what. It's so dang loud that it doesn't really need to be cabled to anything. The motion sensor is enough! I find that using the remote is much easier than punching in the code on the cable itself. Punching it in wrong and the alarm goes off. Ouch. But, good if you have to give someone the code. Easy to use and secure, I'm glad I have this for my electric scooter. UPDATE: This stopped working. I can’t find the manual, and there isn’t one online. I’ve removed the batteries, replaced them, the remote and unit beeps — but the lock won’t open. Good lock while it lasted, but now it doesn’t work.

Excellent and convenient to use against thieves
It is convenient to tie the wheel before entering the store for a short moment, it takes exactly 2 seconds to tie and you are not afraid that someone will take the bikes because you hear the alarm immediately,It is also good to tie the chair and the helmet to the chassis

Failure
I used this lock to lock my trailer when I use my bike for grocery shopping. Yesterday, it would not unlock. I had to leave my trailer locked to a railing at the grocery store and bike to a hardware store where I had to purchase a bolt cutter to free my trailer. Not happy.

Inconveniently Sensitive and No Volume Control
So I’ve been using this for a few weeks. I DON’T LIKE it. I can’t say it isn’t effective, which is why I give it 4 stars. The alarm goes off all the doggone time. It alerts me when someone messes with it, when someone walks by, when a nice breeze blows across my porch, when a bird lands on or near it, or when I walk in an area of the yard anywhere in its vicinity. Great. And let’s talk about the volume. If I placed this a mile from my house, I’d hear it. So, imagine how cardiac arrest-inducingly loud it is when you’re walking next to it or when an unsuspecting customer at my grocery store walks past. I actually got a complaint from security about it because it was scaring the heck out of people just passing by. :( Best of luck to you. I highly recommend if you have daily burglars or live in a farm house an acre away from this.

problems with vibration sensitivity
Upon receipt, the vibration sensor was way too sensitive. I'm not about to leave my bicycle knowing that it's likely to become a public nuisance (from the loud alarm) when someone bumps into it accidentally. I tried to lower the vibration sensitivity by long pressing 4, which only caused it to beep rapidly and loudly giving no indication of changed vibration sensitivity. So I returned the it.UPDATE 3/14/2020:After returning the defective unit, I received the replacement unit one day later. The replacement is not defective. The settings for changing the vibration sensitivity function as described in the instructions. Nevertheless, although I now like this bike lock/alarm for use in low-risk public spaces, I suggest some thorough testing in your home to learn some of the beep codes and what to expect. Here are a few things I learned:1. The vibration alarm is very sensitive in all 3 sensitivity levels. I set it off merely by intentionally heavy walking next to the bike, although that was on a wooden floor rather than dirt or paving where it would normally be parked outdoors. One good thing: The VERY LOUD alarm stops after a few seconds, at least if the vibration has stopped. Still potentially frightening for an innocent passerby.2. Practice unlocking the alarm using the 4-digit password. It sets off the alarm even when entering the correct password, but only for a very brief time at least if your password is correct. So don't panic; just enter the rest of the password quickly and press the button in the middle.3. The vibration alarm can be turned off. Consider doing that in low risk, high traffic areas.4. This alarm is great for quick installation in low-risk public spaces. Buy a tougher lock for remote, night or other higher risk situations. I suspect that a well equipped and determined thief who is not deterred by public shaming could make short work of this lock.

Pretty loud but cables can be quickly cut by a bike thief.
This thing is pretty loud, however if you hold it with the buzzer in the palm of your hand it will pretty much squelch the buzzer. It is quite easy to set it off. It might go off if someone bumps your bike parking next to you in a bike rack for instance. Aside from the alarm it is a pretty good form of security in low to moderate risk areas. A pair of bolt cutters will cut most any cable. It seems there are ways for an experienced thief to defeat all but the most expensive locks and chains if given time. As long as you can stay close enough to hear this lock when someone sets it off, you’ll be ok.
