FINALLY what I needed for the ice maker!
I don't know why this is so hard to find. My refrigerator water line had a slow leak from the compression fitting, and successive replacements in my kit seemed fine until I found a slow leak in my basement. This thing fit on perfectly, no leaks. As others noted, the thread depth is fairly long. This works on my new KitchenAid, but I can see how it might not compress the o-ring if theres not enough. I would probably just file down the fitting if that's the case, but ymmv

Decent part, with one caveat.
I used this to connect an external water filter to my refrigerator because it’s one of those that has $60 water filters inside the fridge. So I got a GE external wall-mounted filter, run my waterline through the external filter and then to the fridge and save $30 at every filter change now. Turns out you can leave the water filter out of the fridge and the icemaker and water line still work. The 1/2” copper tube waterline in the wall terminates in one of those little quarter turn valves that has a 1/4 inch compression fitting outlet. Normally you would put the 1/4 inch hard PEX-type tubing through the compression nut, slide on the compression sleeve and then tighten it to the valve.I wanted to use this to make it more easily removable for my particular set up.The push to connect part works fine and there were no leaks, The 1/4 inch hard tubing slides in very nicely. However when screwing it onto the quarter inch compression male threads on the water valve I noticed an issue. The threads in this plastic part are so deep that the body of this part screwed itself all the way on and bumped up against the valve body before it made contact with the internal rubber washer. So it didn’t make a good seal and leaked. If you look at the internal threads on a stainless steel braided quarter inch compression refrigerator waterline hose you’ll see that the threads are much more shallow and you only screw it on maybe two turns before it starts making contact with the internal sealing rubber washer.I was able to use this part at the refrigerator end to connect it to the icemaker input, because those threads on the refrigerator icemaker water input were longer. There were no pictures of the rubber washer inside this part so I’m including them in my review. I suppose in a pinch you could correct for the deep thread issue by putting the threaded nut side down onto a belt sander and taking off an eighth of an inch or so, but that’s a little extreme.

Threads Are Too Deep
I got this to repair a broken copper supply line to connect to a new LG LRSOC2306S fridge and the threads are too deep for the connector to properly engage the socket. Even cranked down as hard as I could the threads still leaked water.

For 1/4 push-in to 3/8 compression, get John Guest PP3208U7WP instead
As others mentioned, the 3/8 female thread of this Lasco is too long. You'll need 9mm o-ring to prevent leak if you use it with a regular 3/8 male compression like those under the kitchen sink.Get the John Guest PP3208U7WP fitting instead. It's labeled as 1/4 push-in to 7/16, but note that 7/16-20 is the actual thread size of 3/8 compression fitting.

Perfect for an LG fridge
After going from store to store trying to find the right part to set up my water line on my new fridge and buying the wrong item several times, this worked perfectly! I've got a newer LG fridge that has a male compression fitting on the fridge and I needed a push connect for my plastic water line. You'd never guess how hard it is to find the right part! It shipped quick and worked wonders. Thanks again!

Female Threads were Too Long
The fitting female threads were too long to fit the male counterpart. I measured the male thread to be 8.12mm from the front of the male threads to it's collar. The fitting didn't engage the o-ring at the bottom of the female threads. It's a big bummer since I really wanted to replace the brass version of these fittings.I don't see why they couldn't just make these female fittings a little shorter. I'm sure this fitting would work excellent if they were.
