High Praise from a picky, picky person.
I bought for my spouse. He is picky and he is HAPPY: “Oh, this is nice! It’s nice and heavy, this isn’t cheap! The handle, It’s beefy!” He is a fabricator, first thing he did was look at the welds. “Those welds are good” “Oh look, the diffusers!”I wish I’d have videoed him to post reaction. First time he hasn’t criticized quality of an Amazon purchase.

Good heat distribution
I love this griddle insert for the Camp Chef 2 Burner Stove. It is a perfect fit to the stove. It has a handle in the center front which is nice for removing and carrying for storage. This is no thin piece of sheet metal. The bottom is cast in such a way as to give you an even heat distribution. With the 2-burner system, you can control the heat for both sides of the griddle for the preparation of different foods or for a lower heat zone for warming. We originally purchased the Camp Chef 2 for canning using the big pots for the bath. Since our house is all electric and everyone knows that electric heating elements are terrible this has been great, and it gets the heat out of the house. This griddle top makes this perfect for our outdoor cooking. We keep the system up all summer long now and enjoy the griddle at least twice a week. Great purchase! I only wish they came with a storage bag for the winter months.

Hands down one of the best investments I've ever made...
Awhile back I purchased my camp chef stove to take out on my camping trips and have had my eye on this accessory griddle for awhile. I used it for the first time on our camping trip this past weekend and this is without a doubt one of the best investments I've ever made. To be able to cook the entire meal on one surface instead of having to use several different pots and pans is so much more convenient. There were seven of us on this camping trip so I was cooking quite a bit of food all weekend. Both mornings I cooked up pancakes and eggs. I made 20+ pancakes within about ten minutes because I had so much surface area. Toss 12+ eggs on there and get to scrambling, boy do you feel like quite the chef. The second night I cooked burgers for everyone and went just as smoothly as breakfast. So much surface area to cook on, it's amazing. I love the fact that it has the grease catcher that runs the length of the front of entire griddle. Definitely makes for less of a mess.My ONLY complaint with this is that it didn't quite heat up as evenly as I would have liked. I have the two burner camp chef stove and the heat over both burners was even, obviously. However, in the middle section of the griddle in the space between the two burners, the griddle was a little cooler. I will note that it was a pretty chilly weekend on this trip with temps in the 30s/40s, so I'm sure that was part of the reason for the uneven temperature. But even moving food out to both sides of the griddle, you still have so much surface area to cook on and not having that middle section to cook as warm isn't too big of a deal. In fact I would move the burgers to that section after I placed the cheese on them just to keep them warm without over cooking them and give the cheese a chance to melt. In that sense, the uneven temperature actually worked out really well.I can promise you that you will not be disappointed with this product. Camp Chef knows what they're doing and I would rate this as the #1 must have accessory for any camp chef stove!

... a few complaints about this and it sounds mostly like people don't realize what they are buying
I've read a few complaints about this and it sounds mostly like people don't realize what they are buying. First this isn't a non stick surface, it's cast iron. If you've never cooked on cast iron clean up/care is a little different then you might be prepared for. For starters it's iron, it will rust very fast so don't leave water on it for any period of time, cover it as soon as it's cooled and don't even think about using it in the rain. On the plus side you can't really ruin cast iron. If it does rust some scrubbing should do the trick. When you are done with it scrub it good while it's still hot, scrub everything off with something rough like steel wool or a wire brush, wipe it down with paper towels, and put a thin layer of grease, oil, or if you feel like spending money buy some special cast iron conditioner.I think the pre-seasoning kind of sucks. So I'd save up a good amount of grease from cooking (or again by the cast iron conditioner) before you use it the first time. Set the heat on low and just keep applying thin layers to it as you heat it up, don't put so much on it starts to pool but don't let any spots dry out either. It's a hassle but if you do this for a hour or two nothing will stick to it for years to come. As an alternative when you use it for the first time you could just a lot of nice thick cut bacon and get the same result. The only reason I'm not giving this 5 stars is the defuser plates don't do much, you clearly get very hot spots right under the burners while the edges aren't even hot enough to cook on.

Good grill for camping
This was purchased for camping with a bigger group in min mind and worked out perfect. The seasoning process was way easier than a Blackstone griddle as this comes pre-seasoned and is cast iron the first item cooked on was bacon to insure the seasoning was properly done and never looked back on that process. You do need to follow the instructions to never go above medium heat in the beginning and then turn it down to low to cook and this can be adjusted any where in between. The cleaning process was simple using a scraper lightly and a cast iron seasoning of you choice do your research on what you should use. Well pleased with purchase.
