Fender Gretsch Chrome Guitar Strap Buttons

Fit my Gretsch Electromatic Double Jet PERFECTLY!

I bought these for a hollowbody guitar and installation was easy. It works well and looks nice

I thought I was playing my next gig in a chair. I bought what I thought was the same thing from a retailer in AR ... the hanger bolt was reverse threaded ... When I am in need of parts, Guitar Audio will be my first stop moving forward.

Wish the shipping had been snappier, but I'm happy with the parts.

I have a bunch of guitars, all brands, all types. My Gretsch guitars I always like playing on for lots of reasons, one of them being the super large strap buttons. Slap on your strap, screw the button down, and you are ready to rock. Every other guitar I have slips straps constantly, without locks on them. So once I found these for sale I swapped out all my stock Fender and Gibson buttons and put these on all of them. Best easy mod ever.

Solid fit and good finish

I needed to replace one of the strap buttons on my Electromatic. The cap became stuck on the post, making putting on or removing the strap difficult. I replaced the damaged button with one of these, and it was a perfect fit. The screw and post were both a bit longer than the original, which makes for a better hold. I liked it so much, I replaced the undamaged button as well. These were a perfect fit.

No complaints about the product itself, I just wanted to point out that it isn't exactly the same as the buttons that came on my G5222. It's possible these are exactly the same as the made in USA Gretsch buttons and are slightly different than the ones that come installed on the Chinese models (like mine).The buttons on the left in the images are the stock, the ones on the right are this Amazon product. The differences:- Amazon has a slightly girthier screw (the part that drives into the wood) - which could be a good thing if you are wanting to replace some where the wood has stripped out- Stock have black posts, Amazons are chrome (you can't see this difference when the knobs are installed)- Knurling on the Amazon knobs is thicker, deeper, and less-refined looking. Once installed nobody would notice this difference and it doesn't have any impact on functionality.- The thread pitch on the stock knob (where the knob screws on to the post) is fine and the threads on Amazon's are course - so you can't put the stock knobs on the Amazon posts (or vice versa)- The threads on the stock screw (the part that drives into the wood) are reversed and Amazon's are standard (righty-loosey, lefty-tighty on the stock screws)Again, if Amazon's are a perfect match for the USA Gretsch buttons (and that's what you have), you're going to put them on a non-Gretsch guitar, or you're totally replacing your existing buttons, none of these things will really matter. The buttons themselves seem like pretty good quality, I just wish the description was a little clearer about how they're different - if they're going to charge $20 for these, I think it's fair to expect thorough product descriptions.
