Fantastic book for the budding Architect/Designer!
This book was a gift for our nephew. The illustrations are lovely and the directions, clear. My husband was so impressed with the various techniques and the way they are taught, he wanted to keep it!

Color within the lines
This is an elementary introduction to the architectural process -- just what I was looking for to help me with perspective and skill in my art work. Mo Zell: she is great putting the straight-forward routine down. The layout is simple and easy to understand and use.Thank you Ms. Zell.

Just getting started
We bought this book for our son for Christmas. He really enjoys architectural engineering and thinks he wants to go to school for that. This book already is giving him some insight as to what that looks like. The lessons appear to be very detailed. Not much else to say at this time as my son is just starting out.

Awesome Book!!!!
I read this book in one day and have gone back through to complete the assignments and find the recommended additional reads which I found to be very helpful. Overall I am so pleased with this book. The way the information in conveyed is clear and precise. I will look out for addition architectural reads from this author.

HARD TO READ
There are some good architectural concepts to learn in this book, and some great drawings/examples. But the print is very small throughout the book making it difficult to read. Some of the print is gray instead of black making it even more difficult to read. If that isn't enough, the pages are shiny - almost like a magazine - making it even more difficult to read. This is not what I was looking for. I would recommend making the book larger in order to make the print readable.

Great gift for my 8th grader
A gift for my teen for his birthday. He loves it! Lots of great ideas and things to do on his own to continue learning the skills needed to try architecture. The descriptions, pictures and activities in the book have him excited to get drawing.

This is at least the third book I've acquired in my quest for the study of architecture that has been a huge disappointment.
This is at least the third book I've acquired in my quest for the study of architecture that has been a huge disappointment. This is a modern book, full colour, great graphic layouts dedicated to archaic methods. It wastes it's glorious pages upon descriptions of how to hand draw, cut out, paste and glue things together as if CAD hadn't even been invented yet, let alone been around for 35 years and accessible to stand-alone architects for the last 25.Don't get me wrong, if I had ordered a book on "traditional" drafting and 3D modeling techniques this book would be the bomb. But for a modern book on 3D Representation (in the title!) to only give CAD a cursory mention at best is IMHO unconscionable. It would be like purchasing a modern book on photography editing techniques and it goes on and on about how to doge and burn B&W in a dark room, then sort of as a side note at the end saying, "and there are also colour processing techniques, scanning, and digital photography that lend themselves to computer use."I wouldn't be so bewildered if I could find one (even just one) book on the market dedicated to the use of ArchiCAD 16 (the software I'm using which is amazing but highly complex to learn on your own) in place of the plethora of these books which discuss hand drafting, erasing, gluing and pasting ad-infinitum. If anyone finds one out there please let me know!

The missing text book for Architectural Studio
Many architectural studio classes are taught without a specific textbook (not counting the reading of architectural classics). This could be that missing textbook. It is a broad yet specific syllabus of all things studio. While seeming a bit advanced for high school time limits, it certainly is worthy of college and graduate school courses.
