Awesome Access Point!
Firstly the caveat - I have not used Draytek Tech Sport so I can't really rate them as I have not had a reason to contact Draytek Tech support.Second caveat - This access point is not for the average consumer with no networking know how, as it is not DHCP enabled out of the box. If you wish to get started in the world of networking, the manual is the perfect place to start. However if it all looks gibberish then there are plenty of networking videos on the web.The best way to learn to is to tinker and see what works and what doesn't work although bear in mind if you have a large household - would not recommend tinkering with an actively used network lol.Without further ado - VAP903-K, it's an absolutely feature rich access point which is previously used as an access point now a mesh node with a Vigor 2862 as a mesh root with a wired uplink. Powered by a D-Link DGS-1008P.I'll add reviews to the latter two items after I've used them for sometime. The dashboard pretty good and detailed. It supports band steering, multiple ssids, includes a handy indicator for showing the strength of the network password. After using this access point for about 6 days, I have only scratched the surface of what this nifty access point can do. It also includes pre-set MDM policies as well as able to distinguish O/S types of different devices. The band steering functionality has been a Godsend as it's given light in the murky darkness of crappy consumer grade routers which did not include this functionality. Thanks to the trickle down effect it's slowly making it's way down to the chain. Not to mention the individual SSID based Mac Address filtering is pretty awesome too.It has 4 ports, no POE pass-through - which would have made this the ultimate AP for a specific use cases where a power socket is out of reach. However, it's not all sunshine and rainbows but it's not solely down to the AP itself but the consumer grade Wifi products in the devices we use daily. As the latter includes poor implementation of mac address filtering.First, I live in a household which consists of iphone, android and windows phones. The latter two work flawlessly but iphones? They are freaking diabolical persnickety pieces of junk. Why the colourful expression?Being just a few feet away from the AP the iphones fluctuate between 6 Megabits to 24 Megabits!!!!!!But if I enable Mac Address filtering, add the mac addresses of the iphones the speed shoots upto 76 Megabits max!!!!!BUT!Even adding every other device as well, the devices start to exhibit strange connection behaviour and some devices such as Windows 10 laptops refuse to connect at all - whilst displaying 'more information required before a connection can be made' something along those lines ffs!Even adding the devices to the whitelist, vlans etc on the Vigor 2862 nothing works. Disabling mac address filtering enables all devices to connect without issues. Devices on the previous host router NowTV Hub 2 also exhibited similiar behaviour.Unfortunately due to the layout of my house the ideal place for the 903K is right in the middle of heavy WiFi interference as I need to run ethernet cable from two rooms and have the 903K connected by a ethernet uplink from the host / root on the ground floor. Thus leaving 1 port for back up, I have not used the Lan-B port yet. Therefore I have had take away half a star due to these interoperability issues and the remaining half is due to the inability to assign names in the mac address filtering which you can do on the Vigor 2862.I'll update this review when I figure out a way round the interoperability issues.A side note, I have not used any software to manage / change settings on the access point only the web interface as I prefer that than installing a client software or changing settings wirelessly.

Nice AP
This AP works so well this is the 2nd one I've bought. It would be easier to wall mount if it came with a template instead of a loose instruction. The whole AP was cheaper than cables to extend the router antennas to improve the signal.Throughput is fine in a domestic environment; I don't know how it will handle being heavily loaded.I haven't rated tech support because I haven't needed them for this product.

More detailed instructions for wireless connection needed
Unable to set up using a LAN cable as I have an iPad and my husband a new laptop which does not have a LAN socket. Unable to set up wirelessly - instructions not detailed enough and no telephone contact number.Husband then noted that access point had to be updated frequently to ensure internet security. Decided too much hassle and potential for security breaches. The item did not meet our requirements.

Returned two out of two. Unusable mesh and unreliable even as a basic AP.
Draytek routers are great but unfortunately their WiFi products as just not up to it. Do get a Draytek router, which run forever, but look at as mesh system from e.g. BT instead for WiFi.

Completely broke after 2.5 months
Was a bit tricky to set up, but once configured was working well for about 2.5 months and then bricked. Any form of reset is not helping - default wifi networks are up and running, but it is not possible to connect to the device - neither via wifi nor via LAN port. Tried everything so far apart from throwing it to the bin.

Easy to set up.
A bit geeky but quite easy to set up if you are a geek!

Brilliant!
Powerful, highly configurable professional product.Do not buy it if you do not know why you need it and do not have enough knowledge about computer networks.
