High quality vise
This product works great. Just what I needed for my drill press. I tried a cheaper Chinese brand before but it was nothing compared to this well made product. Quick and easy to set up, slides work great, strong clamping force. Highly recommend!

Nice heavy duty vise
Very nice vise. Heavy duty and exactly what was needed for our shop drill press. As other reviewers mentioned, I was a bit hesitant to order this via Amazon as it is a heavy item and I was concerned it might be damaged in shipping. Luckily, it arrived without damage although the styrofoam in the box was broken and a small hole was punched in the side of the box. After some small adjustments it worked very well and meets our needs.

Great vise
Heavy vise, built well. I took it apart and did a good cleaning and it works very well. Don't try to make a milling machine out of a drill press though.

Poor quality
I have other Wilton voices that I'm very happy with when I needed device for my drill press I have no hesitation and spending the extra money to get a Quality tool when it came it appeared to be very heavy duty and well made first thing I noticed I had no owners manual put the handles on made the adjustments necessary X and Y movement wood bind up every Half of A turn it appeared the shaft was bent I sent it back got a replacement when it came the box had no damage once again no owners manual put it together once again it would bind up try several adjustments call Wilton removed the Threaded Drive, Rod found that it was not bent put it back in the Vice did not connected to the end plate just the body on the vice it had over a quarter inch of movement I returned the vice for a refund I was very disappointed in the quality and or quality control

Not the quality I was expecting for the price
So the vice/work holder is rather bulky and overall has a good appearance for a fab shop or tool room use. However when trying to turn the handles and move the jaws the screw threads are not machines the greatest and don’t advance without quite a lot of effort and are not smooth sliding as one would expect. Also the handle are not precision as there is a lot of slip or lag from when you start to advance it until it actually starts to move. I would have returned the unit but my window of opportunity closed before I had a chance to get this out to check it over before deciding to use it or put it back in the box. Possibly can have some of the issues “machined” to make it operate better but time will tell.

Wilton, not what it used to be.
The vise feels pretty good overall, smooth movements after a little adjusting. Knobs feel decent, paint seems to be pretty heavy duty. One major issue I found is a very obvious casting void that was apparent after the ways were machined. Luckily for me this vise will just be going on my drill press to be abused, but if you’re looking for something of quality i would look elsewhere. If things like this can make it through their QC process they just aren’t what they used to be. I’ve got an 30+ year old bullet vise that I love, but since Wilton switched to overseas I can’t say they are any better than the cheaper alternatives. Overall the vise will work for my application but not what should be expected from Wilton.

Game changer
I had the 4 inch and it broke do to over tightening. This one let's me get larger material in to more accurately drill the piece
