Clear off your professional book shelves. This is an excellent resource for teaching reading and will replace many other books you may have purchased. I found that it clearly states the Common Core Standards and gives examples of how to teach them. The text explains how the Common Core spirals from K to 5. For me, understanding what students should know before my grade(2 ESL/ELL), as well as after was amazing. I couldn't put the book down!I was not sure that I wanted to purchase a book that covered so many grade levels, as I have found in the past that those type of books missed the mark, barely touching on lower levels or higher levels, ie teaching to the middle. I am so glad I decided to give it a try. The authors made the process very easy to understand. The examples are do-able! Management ideas are great. I have a much clearer understanding of the Common Core and how it should all work in a classroom.After 20+ years of teaching reading, K-2 levels, I feel energized and eager to teach reading again. My bookshelves will be less cluttered!You should buy this amazing book and get rid of the clutter on your shelves too!

Terrific resource. Very detailed with tons of examples. Gives background knowledge of the CCSS and how it is aligned to close reads. Highly recommend!
