Good intake but not cheap and CA smog ready a plus

I was very pleased when the item showed up at my door step and immediately installed it upon receiving the item. unfortunately it does not fit the new body style truck as directed by K & N's website. the internal layout is almost identical to the classic style truck but there are some changes. one of the biggest differences is the throttle body spacer is a 3 post mount were as the new body style is a 4 post so i had to improvise to get it to fit using the OE intake and a dremel. i did manage to make it it all work out in the end but it was a big hassle to get everything fitted properly. overall i love the intake but if your thinking on using this for a new body style truck i would not recommend it unless your willing to cut and chop up your OE intake to make this fit.

Little bit up there in price but worth the money for throttle response and the sound. If you’re looking for easy horsepower this is the upgrade. If you’re debating whether to bite the bullet or not this is the message telling you to do so.

A mechanic friend told me it was the cheapest upgrade for the best performance for my truck. My truck doesn't choke out and rev up to high rpms going up hill anymore. It sounds better and has better throttle response. It's too early to tell about gas mileage. It was easy to install, it took me about two hours and that was mostly looking for my tools. There's a step not in the instructions. The front right throttle body bolt has a bracket for the linkage. Under that bracket there's a nut you have to take off in order to make the coupling level with the other two. I would recommend this to anyone. I'm buying one for my dad for Christmas.

This was easily installed with your basic tools, and went on in an hour. Notice when I first started it up the truck wasn't working as hard at idle and at cruising speeds the rpm's dropped a little bit. I mainly drive city so haven't really noticed mpg increase but there is more acceleration with it on now. It seems like it revs up faster now with the new intake. All in all very please with the fit and finish of the Intake system. A+ K&N and fast shipping as always with your prime account.

The product was shipped with missing pieces. I did not get the 4 6mm nylock nuts so I want able to put in on my truck and had to go out and buy some. Very frustrating. Also the instruction sheet being in black/white and pixelated make it hard to see what pieces it to put on.

I installed this on my 4.3 Silverado P/U. It went on fairly easy and only took about a 1 1/2 hours to install. You can feel and notice the difference right away. It almost feels like a different engine. I would recommend this to anyone who is trying to increase the power in their 4.3. All the parts are made from quality products. You can tell K&N builds quality products. Also, I saved about $50.00 buying it through Amazon.com

I bought the k & n intake used for 160.00 and it came assembled already, so installation took about 30 minutes total. The intake sounds great when accelerating and passing. The upgrade will pass inspection, just make sure you hook up the mass air flow sensor in the correct direction. I haven't noticed any gained mpg but it looks and sounds good and will probably never have to buy another cheap air filter.
