The book was easy to follow
I took this book on a recent family road trip from Cincinnati, OH to the Grand Canyon. We stayed in, or stopped at several lodgings listed in the book and also ate at several of the restaurants. The book was easy to follow, since it broke Route 66 into sections, then listed lodging, followed by dining in each section. Each restaurant or hotel/motel, etc. had a picture and a quick summary of cost range and what they offered, which was helpful to us in making selections on where to eat and stay. This book is up to date and reliable. One suggestion I would make for the next addition is to include the zip code for each establishment, which would make it a bit easier to run directions for GPS users.

Pretty good but needs to be updated
Used this for my Route 66 drive in October 2016. Pretty good but needs to be updated. Of note, the Baghdad Cafe was open when I arrived (shortly after breakfast time ~10:00AM) and there was an old, unkempt looking guy behind the counter who disappeared when I entered. He apparently did not want my business because he appeared again about 15 minutes later. He did not greet or acknowledge me and did his best imitation of treating me like a ghost, as in not there. So bypass this place except for an outdoor picture opp of the signage.

the information is poorly laid out and could be organized a lot better. There are no delineations between sections
Incredibly informative - includes physical address and phone numbers for lodging and eating establishments. However, the information is poorly laid out and could be organized a lot better. There are no delineations between sections. Often sections begin in random places on a page, making it difficult to visually see where sections begin or end, lodging or dining. The style is free flowing rather than a more structured format. Other than that, the information is great to have - either during planning or on the road!

A Must Have
We used this book as an adjunct to the Route 66 maps and guides by Jerry McClanahan. It was very easy to follow, with plenty of suggestions. I might have preferred it if the dining and lodging were split up in separate sections, since you're usually only looking for one or the other at any given moment. The spiral binding made it easy to leave it open to a particular area. The cover is hard enough to offer good protection.

My new bible of Route 66
So pleassed to have this invaluable guide to plan my stops. Cross referenced with the Lonely Planet Route 66 guide it is all that is needed. Also the money spent on the Route 66 Dinning and Lodging Guide goes to a really good cause. I feel really privillaged to be helping such a cause. I highly reccommend this guide with practical usable easy to read and access information, much of it in budget range.

CAN'T WAIT TO USE THESE
SEEMS THE PRICE IS A BIT HIGH, BUT I NEEDED THE BOOK. WHY ARE THERE A CERTAIN # OF WORDS REQUIRED BEFORE THIS IS ACCEPTED. CRAZY REQUIREMENT

Meh
Meh. Can get just as much, if not better, information online just as easily. I ordered many different books for our various 66 trips and this is my least used one.

A Helpful Guide
Looks very complete, and should help us avoid "pot luck" for eating and lodging on our upcoming Route 66 road trip. I like the way they list certain spots that they recommend for their own sightseeing value, whether you dine/lodge there or not. Spiral binder makes it easy to keep it open to the pages you need as you progress from Chicago to L.A.

Not useful information, and very poor presentation
Not useful information, and very poor presentation. It seems that the guide is an old collection of data only refreshed in the cover.
