Effective, will kill for extended period of time.
This was the only thing to consistently kill the carpenter ant invasion we had in our bathroom. Drilled a couple holes in the wall and filled the cavity with the vapor, sealed it back up and their numbers slowly dwindled down to nothing.

It works
I just found my house been attacked by carpenter ants (the big black ants about 1cm long each), they came from different directions outside the yard. I used dozens of different insect control spray, vinegar, detergent for a month, it killed some on the spot but they kept coming back right the way. I found this one from the Amazon, sprayed the foundation around the whole house, the ants disappeared from outside of the house next morning and only found one or two per day for five days found inside the house, now almost a month and no more ants found inside or outside my house. The container will not work properly if you do not shake well before use and hold it straight up, the yellow color chemical foam spray for about 80 feet per container. This product not available at most of the local hardware stores. The price is a little cheaper from Amazon and I received it in couple days

Pricey But Works " AWESOME" Please Read our experience.
We had carpenter ants, in our fifth wheel. They were inside the wall where we had some water damage. The walls of their nest was in had not been damaged that they were taking their meal over into another wall for storage. The only way of killing them off would've been to tear out that all is well.We tried bombing with bug bombs, it did killl some of them. Did not kill the Queen for many of the workers that were left. I would say the bombs killed maybe half. And we used to heavily concentrated bombs in the fifth wheel. I sprayed I vacuumed I tried everything. People say spray with bleach and ammonia all these other things they say and try didn't work.. We did over time and they still kept coming back. ( no we did not use any of these chemicals together as they are poisonous). So I looked online and saw high reviews that seem to make it appear that this product worked. I found that I drilled two holes at the bottom of the wall in the middle of the wall, at the top. Each one about 10 inches apart all the way down the wall. The holes for the size of the spray nozzle so I could stick it in the hole and spray it.A day later, I came back into the fifth wheel to see what had occurred and there were mountains of ants all over my carpet in my fifth wheel. They all escaped and died from the spray that I put inside the wall. Interestingly there was no chemical smell of any kind and I could not even tell where I had drill the holes. Patching the holes I'm going to use wallpaper and redo the wall anyway so that way you cover holes. This worked with about using a half a can of spray within a 3' x 4' section. I also sprayed the inside walls of the neighboring closet, as well as the external storage boxes that were nearby the area. It's also important that you use save spray around your RV landing gear tires to make sure that any and all pests from getting back in.Side note I had an extra can left, and needed to get rid of some hornets decided to take up room at the back of my house. This took care of them very quickly I was surprised how well it worked. This reminds me of the pest control be used to have available to as 20 years ago, you would spray something and it would work. This stuff works wonders. I used it for carpenter ants which are very hard to kill so anything else it should work on, that is less durable. I highly recommend this.

Kills carpenter ants dead!
I don't know if carpenter ants these days have been bio-engineered, but they are fast, armor-plated little buggers and normal pest control measures, they just laugh at. This stuff works! It affects their nervous system and they either go belly up immediately or they run around in circles for a while, then go very still. Apparently does not kill pets, which is always a good thing.

Works, but, what you need to know
This stuff is really toxic according to the instructions.Use it as a last resort.I found it takes 3 or 4 days to kill wood borrers.A bit frustating when you have 20 or 30 drilling holes in your house. Also, application is difficult. You have to put the tube in the hole the bee made and give it a shot. The can needs to be held upright wich requires the tube to be bent up into thebee hole. This requires two hands with no more hands left to hang onto a ladder. Also, you need face protection because the foam can and does blow back in your face.Surface spraying does not seem to work as well or at all. With all that said, the stuff DOES work.It goes a long way if you are just giving a little shot in each hole.I would give it five stars if it were easier to apply and worked faster.
