This is for touch ups, to really do a truck I strongly recommend getting the tub and a sprayer.
I got these cans to test out, and I can instantly tell that this is a quality product that you need to put on your truck. It really does have a good blend of waxy and oily properties. I could just tell that this was the way. Problem is though that these cans just don't go very far. I used the whole case on my 91 f150 and i was barely able to get most of the frame. To really do a good job on my truck and get every nook and cranny I think I would need like 3-4 cases of these cans, also the cans aren't powerful enough to really spray very far, meaning it's harder to get into the hard to reach nooks and crannies. So the optimal choice would be to get the bulk 5 gallon tubs and set up an air compressor. These cans are more for like touch ups, for spraying battery terminals, latches, hood hinges, hardware, stuff like that. These cans definitely aren't meant for bulk work. I would totally recommend either paying a shop to spray your vehicle or investing in a home setup.I didn't clean my truck or anything this stuff went on smooth, and STUCK. my 91 f150 has been in Colorado most of it's life so honestly it doesn't have bad rust, and it wasn't very dirty. This stuff still went on very nicely. I have enough experience to know that this product is what needs to be used. Paint will just chip and flake, so no reason to waste all the time taking the bed off, sanding, wire wheel, priming and painting. Too much effort, it's far more logical to just spray on some of this stuff once a year. In fact I think I would get the black version because I believe they use graphite for the black color which will just add further rust resistance and lubrication.Another thing I like about this product is that not only is it a rust inhibitor but a lubricator as well and it's safe to spray on pretty muvh everything. With paint you have to becareful of wires, and moving parts. This stuff you just spray everywhere and let it do it's thing. This is a quality product that I think is mandatory for vehicle maintenance. If i was smart I would have laid down a tarp or something, but honestly I just did this on the dirt.Love this product, it's easy, it's simple, it's effective. I think the ease of application for the effectiveness is really the selling point here. With paint you have a bunch of prep work, with cosmoline wax you have a bit more worry with things like moving parts and wires, with this stuff you just spray to your hearts content, the frame doesn't even need to be that clean or prepped. This product really does have the properties of a wax and a penetrating oil, it's really cool honestly. Obviously I don't think this is a one and done thing, but then again nothing truly is. You will probably need to do this once a year, but honestly I think that's a small price to pay, besides while you are down there you can check other things on your truck, and it only takes like 30 minutes-1hr.Love this stuff I am gonna be spraying it on everything I am sure.

Excellent product for dealing with protecting metal and other surfaces
I live by the ocean. ( on an island). Everything rusts rapidly. Example, I replaced a door and the new one had stainless steel hinges. The screws started to show signs of rust in<6 months. My new truck showed rusting nuts and bolts in <>4 months. I have used corrosion X, the WD 40 corrosion product, B50….and several others. (That is my experience base with these products.). About 1 year ago I started to use Fluid Film. I now use it on just about everything to include under coating my cars. The reasons I think this product is top-notch is the following. 1. Cost. The cost is about 1/2 of corrosion X. 2. The product does not harm surfaces other than metal. (The is always over spray.). 3. A piece of metal is protected for about a year. ( I apply two light coats. Sprayed about 20 min apart. ). 4.. it can be washed off with some effort and there are no harmful effects to yourself or the environment that I know of. (Caveat is that when this is used as an undercoating it does pick up (absorb) chemicals etc from the road.) The down sides that I have figured out are: 1. It does not last like Corrosion X. (Corrosion X heavy duty and other products are about impossible to beat. But they are pricey and are petroleum based. ). 2. Smell. Unlike other people I would compare the smell to a wet dog. Not many people are around sheep so a dirty dog is about the closest comparison. The upside is that the smell diminishes over time and it smells (off-gassing) like something that is natural. 3. Delivery. Most of the time I have only been able to get <>80-90% out of the can. I think that I have only had 1 can the felt fully drained. I would give the product 5 stars if the cans would fully spray all of the content. Overall, this product seems to live up to most of the advertised claims.

Seems to be helping already
I've done a fair bit of research on delaying the inevitable with my old salt-belt truck and heard good things about using this to slow down the rust. I bought this pack and emptied a can and a half around the bottom of my truck. For anyone who has seasoned an old and unloved cast-iron pan, this is the same idea. Takes a rusty surface, coats it in oil, and brings the metal back to life. Have realistic expectations as it won't rebuild your subframe, but it will bring your frame and under carriage from a dusty red back to a supple black. It seems to soak in and hold on fairly well, but I have been touching up some of the most abused areas, like wheel wells, as the coatings seems to wear off faster when being pelted with water, rocks, dirt, as to be expected. I'd say a can and a half will essentially do a whole car, but it is nice having extras to keep touching up as needed or treating multiple vehicles. Word from experience, If you get this stuff on the outside of your car/paint, it will cause every piece of dirt and soot to stick to it and it'll show, you've been warned.
