Bring home the adventure of a lifetime as Uncle Scrooge and a comical cast of characters star in DUCKTALES THE MOVIE: THE TREASURE OF THE LOST LAMP. Huey, Dewey, Louie and Webbigail Vanderquack accompany their wealthy uncle Scrooge McDuck on a trip to Egypt in search of the long-lost riches of Collie Baba's ancient pyramid. After an epic battle with Merlock the evil sorcerer over a magic lamp, Scrooge and his companions discover that friendship and family are far more valuable than even the most fantastic fortune.

One of my favorite Disney movies. In widescreen HD, and it looks and sounds beautiful.
Wow. The animation is incredible. I haven't watched this in a decade at least, and now I finally found it and get to share it with my boy who turns 4 in August. He'd played the remake of the old (and great) Nintendo game remake so much he knew the theme. I was so excited when I found this. The seasons are long and I believe 9.99 or something. I'll be getting those next. My little dude is completely transfixed. This movie (Ducktales period) is great for all ages. I'm 45 and I love this movie.

This movie deserves a chance
I have heard that this genie/lost treasure story got swallowed by Disney's subsequent release of Aladdin, which is pretty sad. I was one of those kids that ended up with this movie on VHS and not Aladdin (maybe I was the only one!) so I watched it many, many times growing up. I was looking forward to Disney releasing this on DVD and letting my kids watch it.I have to give it five stars because I enjoy the story and the characters and I still like it so many years later. It's way better than some of the worthless junk forced on kids these days. The quality of the DVD doesn't look like it has been restored. I am not an expert, but watching this DVD looks just like watching the VHS. Not a big deal, but it was noticeable after being used to new quality DVDs.Unfortunately, my kids seem to be too little for this movie right now. It scared them a bit. The villain turns into a hawk-thing, and a rat and a roach which kind of freaked them out (ages 2, 4, and 6).The basic story is that the duck grandkids discover lost treasure with their Uncle Scrooge, only to lose it. They end up with the lamp, though, and make friends with the genie inside. The lamp passes from good hands to bad hands and back throughout the movie and has a Disney ending. It has its funny moments and endearing characters. You ought to give this movie a chance if you haven't seen it. It is pretty good and a throwback to the cartoons we were raised on in the early 90s.

Very cool to have on dvd but, could it be any cheaper?
The only way to have a physical digital copy of Ducktales the movies was on LaserdiscThen Disney did some strange website deal for "there" dvdWhich cause all the scalpers to come out of the woodwork and over charge on a basic bare bones dvdNot sure when but, Disney finally listen to the consumers and re-released Treasure of the Lost Lamp on a second print dvdThe dvd is terrible (i've bought quit a quite a few of Disney dvd's and blu ray's) This is the worst it looks super cheap like they didn't care much and just did up old art work and pressed the discIf i didn't know any better I'd swear it was a dvd-r bootleg (That's how cheap the over all appearances is!Ducktales The Movie: isn't by any means amazing or great in fact The "Original" Ducktales 5 episode pilot/movie along with the 5 episode introduction of Gizmo Duck and Bubba Duck are much better movies over allThe first time i seen it i was majorly let down (It doesn't live up to the Ducktales Brand)It's above average but, lacking the magic and imagination the series had.......If the film made money during it's theatrical run the Disney tv division was gonna put out aChip and Dale Rescue Rangers animated movie! (Too bad that didn't happen)Since the movie bombed at the box office the C&D Animated film was scrappedOne major bonus the dvd does have isthe film is presented in Widescreen (1.65:1) something I've never seen that makes it feel more massive like a film!a minus is the audio it's 2.0 Dolby Digital would've loved to get a 5.1 audio trackIt's very cool to have this movie on dvd for $10.00 you can't beat that priceGrowing up loving Ducktales it's hard to scores this film over all 7.5/10
