No dwarf planets but other than that, AWESOME, GREAT and FABULOUS. Recommened highly. Many games can be played.
Super awesome! There are so many ways to play with these cards. You can play like your traditional "concentration" where you learn the location of the pairs via trial and error with other players, but we have invented many new games (more on that below.) The photos are great and the quality excellent. My only complaint is : NO DWARF PLANETS! The dwarf planets are my some of my son's favorites and he misses them. :-) But other than that, a great, great, great purchase. Please come out with a 2nd set with the dwarf planets, some comets, and lots of other galaxies. Here is one of the most fun and popular games we play with these cards. Shuffle then and deal them out in a big grid face down like a traditional game of concentration. But here is where it's different: Each player then puts their hand on a card and at the count of three, we all turn them over. First person to identify a match gets the cards. Then leave the cards face up. Next round, repeat. Again the first one to identify a match gets them. After just a few rounds it feels like you are playing PIT or some other loud fast paced game. The moons and planets are tricky so make sure the other players don't cheat. :-)I have developed so many games to play with this set! Really great for kids and adults.Kudos to the developer. Well done! :-)

Great learning game!
I got this to help my 6 yr old learn more about the planets. The cards are pictures of the actual planets, not cartoons, and they are stunning. The bottom edge of each card is color coded so you can reference the accompanying book and make sure you are correctly identifying the planets and moons if your goal is to learn the names. There are so many cards (planets, moons) that it can be too much for a younger child so we started by playing with just the planets and have been adding moons as we can identify more and get better at the game. Also, the cards are big, which is good because you get a better view of the planets, but you do need a bit of space to spread out to play the game. The box, however, is compact and stores perfectly just about anywhere. I'm really happy with this purchase and my son is too!

Wish I'd invented this!
My hobby is making and displaying small science exhibits. This is the kind of thing I love to find-- games with simple formats (so visitors can catch on quickly) but with a very scientific emphasis, as in-depth as possible. I could hardly believe someone went to all the time and trouble to make this game. The pieces are beautiful, each a photographic portrait of a planet or moon. And not just the usuals, but some moons you don't hear about very often. I am going to make some kind of nifty display area for my cards and use them in my outdoor hands-on science museums this summer. I was going to use them at my puzzle table, but the cards are so gorgeous I decided they need a display of their own. And the price was good, too. Really nice product!!

For astronomy lovers everywhere--it's so beautiful that their age doesn't matter
We gave this to a 12-year-old boy who is obsessed with all things space-related. While we didn't get a chance to play the game with him before we went out of town, we were very impressed by the quality and graphics of the cards--stunning! When the gift recipient opened the package, his whole face lit up--I only wish I'd gotten a photo. We know he'll play it and learn while he does (learning while having fun is the best!). It's also compact enough that he can easily transport it with him on car trips and such--better than all the digital stuff kids today are obsessed with.If you're looking for a unique, well-made and lovely gift for someone into astronomy, this fits the bill!

Fabulous! My 5 year old can recognize most of the planets after just a few days of playing. I scanned the images and printed out a "cheat-sheet" because it is easier than flipping through the booklet that is included. The cheat-sheet also serves as a matching game when my son is playing alone. At this point, we have only used the planets but I look forward to learning about the moons with my son.

Nice, but what about all the dwarf planets?
My 2 year old is obsessed with the solar system and plays with these cards like crazy. They have nice images and are high quality cards. The only issue is that they do not include all of the dwarf planets (only Pluto).

Best astronomy game for kids and adults ever
Beautiful planet and moon images are used to improve memory in an easy memory game. Our 4-year old grandson loves it and so do we.
