Just what I was after
I wasn't looking for a rig for serious steel welding - read my review accordingly. I was looking to fuse some heavy-gauge (10ga) non-ferrous metal beyond the capacity of my usual propane-air torch. They might generate high enough temperatures, but the metal sucked the heat away from the joint too fast for fusion. This does the job just fine. I had been having trouble finishing the ends of 10ga wire work. The usual findings weren't cutting it, the shapes are too uneven to make fabricated findings work well, and I'm just not nuts about using glue in these things - a nice, solid cold join like a rivet give me more sense of commanding the craft, but would have been difficult to apply, if even possible. A fused end seemed ideal, and a light-duty oxy-gas rig seemed like the tool of choice. Early results are all good. And, compared to the Smith Little Torch (a different tool for different jobs), the tank caddy is a Caddy, compared to the Smith's Volkswagen. That said, I have to agree with some of the negative reviews. Yes, the disposable oxy tanks have limited working life (and high price), but don't blame this tool Yes, the oxy valve is fussy: I turn and turn and turn and get nothing, then all of a sudden, way too much. A little practice with it and a light touch will get the result you want. Yes, it's not easy to screw the oxy tank onto the valve, but I think I was fighting the first release of pressure when the valve got into the tank ahead of the tank and valve threads engaging. And one more thing, not the tool's fault; You must light up the fuel before turning on the oxy, as with any torch. But it takes a while turning the oxy valve to get it going, and the fuel burns sooty, throwing threads of carbon into the air until the oxy kicks in. I have a tight workspace with limited ventilation, but I also have an air cleaner. When I fire up this torch, the air cleaner's schmutz sensor pegs and the fan goes into overdrive. If you have otherwise good ventilation and some tolerance for a little dirt, I envy you. Otherwise, I strongly recommend adding an air cleaner to your shopping cart, if not for your lungs and cleaning chores, then for whoever shares your work and living space.-- wiredweird

Perfect, exceeded my expectations.
I’m not trying to be judgmental but I feel like the people that have given it bad reviews are not very experienced with brazing (I am not either). But if you know how to solder copper pipe it is very similar. I replaced the compressor in my home freezer and MAP gas would not give enough heat to the joints by the compressor because it acted as a heat sink. This torch, with the proper settings, was more than enough needed. I am very glad I did not re-invest in an oxy-acetylene set. This did the job perfectly. One tank of oxygen is more than enough to do at least 8 brazing joints.

Junk
Before I purchase this product I went through and read the comments but against a lot of peoples reviews I chose to purchase this product my first product came with the oxygen knob broke off so I told Amazon and they sent me a new one the next day the next one I received is the one in the photos I literally put gas to it in the hose popped off and sprayed me in my face upon further inspection there is no clamps holding The hose is on against the pressure so even if you get one that works correctly clearly the engineering behind this has been neglected I am now returning it and getting a refund because clearly this company of bluefire has poor products I would highly recommend skipping over this product and finding something else

Wish I was more experienced
Blew through the O2 but man does that gas last, I think the seal was busted on mine, or I left the valve open a hair’s width but it works great for its purpose I wish the bottle head rotated to though because I put them in and released I needed them out to attach to it

Has a pinpointed flame that is very accurate.
I was using this torch instead of an acetylene torch for vehicle bodywork. Its pinpoint flame enabled me to lift multiple low spots easily and level the area with a body hammer and a dolly. The lighter it came with is junk, but I was impressed with the torch's overall performance. My only concern is how long the oxygen bottle will last.

Gets very hot... knobs are flimsy.
The torch is difficult to light, and difficult to maintain a flame with, because the knobs/valves are flimsy and even the slightest brush with a piece of clothing can change the ratio enough to put out the torch. In fact, they're also overly sensitive, so any tiny movement has a huge impact on the flame. That's very annoying, but I was pleasantly surprised by the torches effectiveness once I was finally able to get it dialed in after half an hour. It got hot enough to melt stainless steel... which really surprised me. So, it gets hotter than my full size torch, but it can only be used on smaller items. Great for braising as you rarely need a big torch for that.

Excellent torch! But use bigger O2 bottle.
I use this torch to remove oil canning from automotive sheet metal. To do this you need super hot pinpoint flame that gets the sheetmetal red hot about the size of a dime. My larger welding torch gets things to hot to fast but this little torch is perfect for this task. However, you will run through tons of the RED O2 tanks that are normally used with this torch! So, I simply adapter the O2 hose directly to one of my larger O2 welding tanks. Just visit your local hardware store to get the fittings to adapt it to the O2 regulator on the larger O2 tank. Fitting were under $10 and now I have a fantastic mini torch that runs for a good while on the normal little MAP gas YELLOW tank and my larger O2 tank.I set the pressure on the O2 gauge at the tank to 20PSI and the torch works great.See the photo I provided for what the setup looks like.

Hotter than propane torch
I got this torch to be able to more easily heat 1/8" mild flat bar steel to make brackets for various projects. This torch is much hotter and more accurate than a regular propane torch, so I was able to heat the steel to a glowing red soft temperature, fast and with little effort. The oxygen setup takes a bit more understanding to operate safely but there's plenty of YouTube videos out there for learning oxy gas setups. Definitely read the instructions on starting and using this torch as it's a bit more involved than a simple propane or mapp gas torch.
