Wii's WiiMote battery pack maintenance
Sadly the Wii is being abandoned by 3rd party vendors. As such, even ‘new’ rechargeable WiiMote battery packs are arriving with degraded or dead NiMh batteries.I wanted to preserve my nyko 3rd prong temp sensor units for another decade. This was done by cracking open the battery pack casing with hot knife, I removed the existing '4/5AA 1.2V 1300mAh NIMH Flat Top’ batteries and ordered these for ~$1.5 each (and the 8 pack is just enough for 4 WiiMotes). The battery pack needs a slight spacer between them. I used a fine wire for this, then banded 2 batteries together with opposing poles showing (the concave ridge is +). On this 1 end I applied no-clean flux (Kester 951) and some 60/40 solder. Then I cut a nickle strip and pre-tinned with no-clean flux & 60/40 solder. Finally, I soldered this Nickle strip onto the battery end. This was placed back into the WiiMote battery pack casing paying careful attention to polarity and I taped the pack together (adhesive is also appropriate). Now the remotes hold a long charge

Don't fit my charger
I bought these along with a POWXS charger that has contacts for AA and AAA batteries. They are too fat to fit into the AA slot.

Solid product
Bought a Nintendo wii back in 2008 & purchased a set of rechargeable battery packs/charging station made for the wii. The charging packs finally died this winter so carefully cut open the packs & replaces the batteries with these. Worked like a charm & the kids are back in Mario land.

Caveat emptor
I don’t know what I was (not) thinking when I overlooked 4/5AA. It means that the battery is 4/5ths the size of the common AA battery. I’m sure other than the fact that I cannot use these batteries at this point in time, that they are most likely a decent product. Read the BIG print.

As described, except level of charge
These batteries worked well for rebuilding Wii remotes, but are not "fully charged" as described.

So upset! This is not at all as advertised! A waist of money.

I ordered these by mistake. I thought I was ordering full sized batteries. Returned for credit.
