I ordered this to water proof new work shoes for my son. He ordered water proof shoes! Oops! So its just gathering dust, waiting for something to protect

So my beloved pair of keds had become dirty over normal period of wearing.I threw them in the wash and was surprised to see yellow spots all over after washing.They looked worse after washing. What the heck?Looked up methods to clean on the internet - tried several, no luck.I purchased a new pair of keds and this product.Tried it on the old pair first, to see if it stained, as mentioned in some of the reviews.Was pleasantly surprised on the treatment result (see photo).They still look new, no stains. Will see how clean they stay once I start wearing them.

My wife bought this product for our white shoes. We did the entire multi-step process and it did not do a SINGLE THING to protect the shoe. Water/mud/dirt soaks in immediately. I have used similar products that have worked but figured I’d give this a try and am blown away at the fact that it literally does not do anything. If I could give it zero stars, I would.
