Practical Self-Reliance - Reducing Your Dependency On Others

John McCann has written a homerun book. I found it very easy to read and understand, yet very thought provoking, as well. John doesn't necessarily give you step-by-step on self-reliance projects but he gets you to take a look at how you live and how you become less dependent on outside resources. He clearly shows that self-reliant living is both practical and available for anyone with the will to do so, regardless of where you live. This book has given me several ideas of ways to help my wife and I cut our dependency and do for ourselves in several areas of our lives. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would highly recommend it as a great addition to the library of anyone even remotely interested in self-reliant living.

This book is excellent. It is written very well and does not give complicated instructions or confuse the reader. The content of this book is for the average person that does not need a lot of money to be self reliant. If I give one reason why this book outshines other books, it would be that the author's methods does not require you to live in the backwoods to do the things he teaches. I live in an apartment and I learned new methods on how to garden and purify (distill water) in a city dwelling. Until now, I never saw a book that did that.

Helpful information and photos

Another well organized and thought out book with tons of information for both the novice and expert alike in self-reliant and independent living. Lots of photos and illustrations along with references to other books and vendors for more in depth study. I've been both a customer and student of John's for years and would highly recommend this book. Well done! Very easy to read on my Kindle, and am planning on purchasing the actual book upon release for my library. A+ and 5 Stars!

Good book. He covers a lot of territory. A lot of it is not in depth, but there is no way he could do that without the book being thousands of pages. It does give you a lot of ideas that you can explore elsewhere.

Great book! Covers just about everything when it comes to self-reliance, you will have to do further study based on what Mr. McCann teaches, which is good, otherwise it would be a 2,000 page book. Really gets you thinking, I would recommend adding this book to your library.

This is a great book. It covers many topics of the self reliant life style. It makes you want to meet John and shake his hand for such a quality and honestly written book. Great job !!!

Some very good ideas and depending on where you live some are practical.

Ho trovato molto facile da leggere e capire, ma anche molto stimolante. John McCann non scrive una guida passo passo sui progetti di autosufficienza, ma ti fa riflettere su come vivi e fornisce degli spunti per diventare meno dipendente dalle risorse esterne. Mostra chiaramente che la vita autosufficiente è sia pratica che realizzabile per chiunque abbia la volontà di farlo, indipendentemente da dove vivi. Questo libro mi ha dato diverse idee su come aiutare la mia famiglia a tagliare la nostra dipendenza e fare per noi stessi in diversi momenti della nostra vita quotidiana. Mi è piaciuto molto questo libro e lo consiglio vivamente come una grande aggiunta alla biblioteca di chiunque sia anche lontanamente interessato alla vita autosufficiente.
