The best little coffee maker I've ever used!
I have had this same unit (and its "big brother") for at least five years and absolutely LOVE IT! So, when a family member requested a coffee percolator for Xmas, THIS is what I chose for them... I love it for several reasons.First, and most important, it makes wonderful, VERY hot coffee. Because it makes such hot coffee, the taste of even a "so-so" brand is significantly improved, and the taste of a great coffee becomes OUTSTANDING! (You cannot get the high brewing temperatures from an automatic drip coffee maker, thus making this percolator far superior to all of them, even though it lacks a few "handy features" like an automatic timer)Second, it is reliable. As noted above, we've had this model for at least five years and have never had a single problem with it... It works as designed every time!Third, it is fast! It takes less than five minutes from start to finish to have a full pot of steaming hot coffee ready to drink.Fourth, No waste! It makes one large mug and one regular mug of coffee for each full pot (or four small cups)... So, say goodbye to wasted coffee! With the price of coffee, wasting it is almost a crime... (We have its "big brother" for when we have company and that one makes four large mugs or 8 small cups)Fifth, it is EASY and very simple to use. There's nothing complicated about it, in fact, a 6 year old can easily do it for you if you let them.Sixth, it is easy to clean. All the parts except for the body of it can go into the dishwasher or be washed in hot, soapy dishwater. I recommend scrubbing it thoroughly at least once a week to keep the stains away as it is always easier to keep them at bay than to get rid of them once they appear. If one is fairly lazy and doesn't want to do more than just rinse it out daily, then you can run vinegar through a cycle once a week to keep it shiny too...The only downside that I can think of are that it does not have an automatic timer, but it's so fast, who cares? To be even faster, it can be prepared at night and simply plugged in when you get up.It is fairly small, which is perfect for two good sized cups or 4 small ones, but if you want more than that, you have to refill it or simply buy a larger pot instead or in addition. That's why we have two sizes. Normally, the small pot is just perfect for us. But several times a year, we have overnight guests (or dinner guests) and need more coffee. We'd normally only buy the larger one, BUT the larger sized percolators really are NOT good at making small pots of coffee~! I'm guessing it is because of the inaccuracy of water to coffee ratio not being "just right" when trying to use a large model to a small model's job.Bottom line: this small model works perfectly, is just the right amount, and is well worth the purchase price for those couples who each just want one, fairly large, great cup of coffee each every morning or for the single person who wants two big cups every morning...

Ditched My Kuerig For This
Seriously enjoying having a hot cup of coffee once again! As effiecient as my Kuerig. I bought filters for this too on the same order. Easy to use, easy to clean (dishwasher safe parts), fast brewing, hot coffee, all stainless steel touching coffee (no plastic except for handle & cord), no mold or other build up unless you never clean it. Cheaper than a Kuerig too. Size is great to travel with campers/other. I have a separate grinder & frother for fancy drinks fyi.

Great percolator
Great little electric peralator. Coffee brews quickly and stays hot. Cleaning is easy and it takes little space. My only issue is the lid. Both my husband and I have trouble, especially removing. Other than that, we love it.

Service life only 2 1/2 years
This is a wonderful percolator! Quickly brews hot, delicious coffee. Brews in about 5 1/2 minutes. Bad news - it will only last about 2 years. Heating unit fails. Buy the warranty! Worth it. We are on our 4th unit. We have an original unit that was made in Brooklyn! Was still working when we retired it. These are very nice units - just expect to replace every 2-3 years when heating unit fails. It will fail.

I like it better than the last 2 high end coffee makers I had.
I purchased this after a couple of high end coffee machines did not deliver high end coffee taste even after descaling. It has been working well and delivering great tasting coffee. Less hassle and more reliable. Brew time is less than 1 minute for 2 cups of coffee. Certainly worth the price.

complete trash BUT only slightly high price as just a pour-over pitcher
i bought this july 2023. this review is march 2024.this item makes TRASH COFFEE *but* it is only a slightly high price for a pitcher to make excellent pour-over coffee if you prefer steel over glass (which i do) and more than a single cup at a time.this is my first percolator. i was coming off trader joe's instant coffee since working from home in our covid-endemic era. at my office, i drank the peet's brewed in the kitchen. instant tj is an ok approximation to peet's brewed cos at least it is wayyyy better than folger's.at first this percolator coffee tasted fine (amazon, starbucks, peet's, dunkin) cos it tasted like tj instant and i'd already adjusted myself down to that flavor/quality.issue 1: after a while, i wanted afternoon coffee so i made a pour-over cup and discovered what incredible trash coffee this percolator makes. same grinds had AMAZING flavor as pour-over but were only a moderately acceptable instant-like flavor from the percolator.SAME GRINDS.issue 2: the bottom has straight slits (same as the spreader/basket lid) instead of holes and they became clogged so i ordered filters which caused the coffee to come out GOLDEN. since i can't see the percolator operate, i speculate that the water either (1) never enters the basket and instead flows out the wide gap along the rim of the spreader, OR (2) enters the basket but passes over the folded filter top (which filter has holes at the four corners to specifically fold over the straw) and exits through the slits along the top side of the basket (never actually reaching the bottom of the basket).CONFIRMATION:today i poured the percolator's golden water into an electric kettle, let the percolator cool to remove its lid, boiled the golden water, and poured it over the spreader myself. i made sure the water never exited the wide gap along the rim of the spreader (speculation #1).COFFEE STILL GOLDEN. i didn't observe whether the water flowed through the slits along the top side of the basket (speculation #2) but i was super mad so didn't even try to use the spreader again.instead, i again poured the percolator's golden water into my electric kettle, boiled the golden water, and unfolded the top of the filter -- and poured the boiling golden water directly over the grinds (not over filter paper) -- and got AMAZING POUR-OVER COFFEE.this percolator makes (1) trash coffee without a filter, and (2) golden coffee with a filter.btw the filters are 'Melitta White Wrap Around Coffee Filter for Percolator' and i'm returning them cos they brew golden coffee.i will use this percolator as a pour-over pitcher. i will use my steel pour-over cone with its filters (no percolator basket, no percolator straw).conclusionTHIS PERCOLATOR IS TRASH but a $60 pitcher if you prefer steel over glass (and more one pour-over cup) is pretty much as good as it gets cos i don't even see any others.oh well.

Super fast great tasting very hot coffee!
Old one broke after 15 years, bought this one and it's even better! Heats very hot almost instantly. Easy to clean and use. Only inconvenience is that a good deal of grounds get inside. There are disc filters but they are expensive and hard to find. You can still use regular drip filters and pop a hole in the middle and gently press them in and they work good for the job.
