It works great!
I purchased it in 2019, put it deep under the kitchen sink and forgot about it till the insta hot sprung a slow leak… it would have done all kinds of damage because I wouldn’t have noticed till it was too late if it wasnt for the funny looking lady bug sensor! Good thing the original batteries were still working!

The leak bug was vital for super early detection of our leak and our plumber loves it!
I got this leak bug to protect under my sinks inside their cabinets, behind the refrigerator where the ice maker and water dispenser had already leaked causing water damage, and by a window that kept leaking until a fourth contractor actually found and fixed the problem. One evening, the leak bug under our kitchen sink went off. I slowly removed everything and there sat the leak bug in as little of water as possibly could be detected, imho, basically just drops. I had set the leak bug on a piece of paper towel. It soaked up enough drops of water and being the brand it is, known for continually being able to absorb water, the leak bug finally went off. I say "finally", but seriously, barely a leak.I checked all the hoses and pipes in the area and found nothing wet. I dried everything up and sat the lady bug up again upon a small piece of paper towel.A week later, she alarms us again and the same exact scenario was present, although this time some drops were even on the lady bug. I checked all pipes and hoses again, especially directly above the lady bug and found nothing. I accidentally hit a hose about midway up in its length and water fell onto the back of my hand. I traced the water source to be located to a coupling in the water intake hose to the sink.I explained all this to our plumber and he felt that this was easy enough for his side kick to check into. He arrived the next morning, first thing, but there was no water leaking to be found, not even in that coupling. He asked if I wanted it replaced anyway and I said, "sure, go ahead."A week later, the same thing! Lady bug was there to mock our lame attempt to fix the problem! This time, my plumber, not his side kick, showed up 2 hours after the lady bug's alarm went off. Same deal. Nothing was wet anywhere, but the coupling (the new coupling!) somehow still held water. Our plumber said the only way he could think of other than a faulty coupling is that the lower hose's plastic inner lining was beginning to crack. He replaced the lower hose and I put the lady bug back on her paper towel perch. She hasn't alarmed us since! Our plumber was so impressed that such a leak was caught so early! He also loves the idea that homeowners can prevent the costly damage due to plumbing failures. He asked me to send him a link to this product so he could recommend it to clients, especially those with tricky leaks like we had!I am against any compensation via discounts, coupons, or any other cost break for giving reviews. This review is my true experience.

Lifesaver, since water can leak in the house from SO many places!
These gadgets really work and can be a cabinet saver - like when our kitchen sink leaked or when the new washing machine dripped from a hose.. I now have them under every sink in the house, in the hot water heater pans (have had a hot water heater spring a leak in every house we've ever lived in) and (new to me) by each of the a/c units. I started out originally with the Leak Frog. But apparently they were so popular that the sellers tripled the price. So these Leak Bugs Water Alarm - Leak Bug Electronic Leak Detector - Detects as little as 1/32" of water  are a much better price. The Leak Frog takes 3 batteries and the Leak Bug takes 2 - but the alarm is loud and clear. If you are paranoid (as I am) from water ruining something at places that sometimes drip or gush - this would be a good choice. I did get one of the 8 I bought that didn't "alarm" when touched in water (my husband's damp fingers). I called Amazon and immediately had an emailed label for a free return, got $ credited back, and meantime ordered a replacement which came right away and worked perfectly.

IT DOES WORK...
Super cute little ladybug - Water Alarm. I like to turn my RO water on and fill up some gallon jugs for my aquariums, while I go about my life, forgetting completely, that I left the water on! So... I got this little bug to sit on the counter. I have of course, flooded the counter with water and the alarm did go off - but it has to make a pretty big puddle of water dripping everywhere before it starts to sound its alarm - but it absolutely does work :-). I'm thinking about getting another one because somehow my son always floods the bathroom and water goes underneath into the cupboard, and we don't discover it down there until days later... so I think I might be time for another lady bug :-)

When I have a leak in my basement.
I just hope it works when I need it. My last one notified me of a leak in my furnace room.

Saved us from attic water heater leakage.
Bought this 5 years ago. My husband mocked me. I put it on our hot water heater pan and forgot about it. Heard chipping this morning. Thought it was a bird outside. When I went upstairs, I thought, "Is there a bird hiding in our attic because it's cold?". Went into the attic and was greeted by the ladybug. Pan was filled with water. Bailed water, drain, bail. Called home warranty. Contacted plumber. Finally called neighbor who shut off the valve. Then we could drain water properly. We were this close to lots of damages.Original battery lasted 5 years. Now after chirping for a few hours, ladybug needs new batteries. But she's worth it.

Easy to Use and Effective Leak Alarm
I purchased this product because occasionally the old pipes in our building like to force the water from the rinse cycle of the washing machine out the drain in the sink in the bathroom (which then overflows and causes a huge mess.) It's rare for this to happen, but it's a real pain when it does.By simply placing the Leak Bug in the bottom of the sink when running the washing machine, I'm quickly alerted when water starts coming out of the drain, allowing me to stop the washer before the countertop, cabinets, and drawers are flooded. This small investment has saved hours of cleanup and spared the expense of having to replace many of our toiletries. As long as you have a screwdriver, you're good to go. This little critter is loud and easy to use. Great product!

It's small but loud
It's cute ...it works. It came with batteries. It's sitting on basement floor by my water tank. It's loud enough to be heard upstairs.

It really works.
How cute is this? Useful, too. I have two... one near the washing machine and one near the hot water tank
