Excellent physical exercise for kids, and it's a lot of fun!
The director of our son's preschool suggested the Diggin JumpStart trampoline as a Christmas gift for our 3 year-old son when we talked to her about a certain activity he's started to enjoy. He holds the back of our couch and jumps up and down on the cushion with great zeal and vigor, a huge grin plastered from ear-to-ear, while laughing and laughing. While most parents wouldn't like jumping on the furniture, we had additional concerns. The other side of the couch is a railing that looks down on the stairwell and downstairs. With such a prodigious loft, my wife is terrified he'll bounce himself clear down to the nether bowels of our home. The preschool director couldn't remember the name of the item, but said it was on Amazon. I gave her my cell phone and she got on Amazon and found it in an instant. I put it in my shopping cart and purchased it that evening.Christmas morning he saw it with great excitement. It took a bit of labor to get it assembled, especially the contraption that sits below the trampoline and counts his jumps. Once it was set up, we turned it on and had him try it.OMG! I have never seen him so invigorated and excited over any toy. He jumped himself to exhaustion. He'd eventually drop to his knees, heaving and huffing and puffing with his hair matted in sweat. A few minutes later, he stood back up and continued jumping and jumping and jumping. The adults were standing at the entry of the room laughing. It was so cute to watch him and his seemingly endless quantity of energy and excitement. This lasted close to 45 minutes before he was too tired to continue. The engineering of this unit is well thought out. The arm span and height is ideal for kids of a wide-enough age range so it can be used for a number of years. Our son, as I said, is 3 years old and about 30 lbs. He can comfortably hold the green part of the handle in front of the red ball ends. This part is high enough that he can grow another foot or so and it will still be comfortable. His weight is not even an issue for this trampoline. He can pack on quite a bit of weight and size before he'll grow out of it.The electronics are also well integrated. He has a number of different buttons to press to change the songs, sounds, and counting, which keeps him interested, and it changes things up depending on what he wants to hear during his play time. Our only complaint is the audio quality, which is common for practically any child toy. The woman's digitized voice that counts and talks to him, we have to strain to understand her at times. But it does what it's intended to do, and the music plays fine. His interest isn't quite as intense as on Christmas, but he still uses it with more moderation than when he first received it. It's excellent exercise and has completely solved the problem of him bouncing on the furniture. We heartily recommend the Diggin JumpStart trampoline. It's safe, well built, and in our opinion, reasonably priced. It provides great value to the dollar! Best of all, it's a healthy addition to any child's physical activities.

Great Fun & Exercise
I don't know many a kid who can't afford to burn a little more misplaced energy! My kids have been burning a ton since we purchased this trampoline. It's rigid structure and shape make it very sturdy and near impossible for any flipping over when climbing on and off, even for little ones. It easily supports the more aggressive jumps my 5 1/2 year old son can pound down on it, and he weighs about 50 lbs. I have no doubt it can support the stated 80 lb. weight limit. My 2 1/2 year old daughter has absolutely no problem climbing on and off, or holding the bicycle-like handles. No worries about bumps and bruises from rogue jumps either - the entire handle bar structure is coated in rubberized foam right out to the ends. The audio features are just a bonus to the fun, but my kids don't need it either and it still entertains them for hours. Was it tricky to put together? Maybe a little, but we really didn't have much trouble. My kids also both have Congenital Heart Defects so getting exercise and good a cardio workout are not lost on us - and who doesn't want your kids to have a ton of fun while doing something that is also so critical to their health :)

Wow is this a pain to assemble!
This trampoline is sturdy and attractive, however I imagine many people will return it out of frustration in trying to assemble it. It took me 2.5 hours and should have taken less than 2 hours. Early on I thought it would take no more than 1 hour! There are two key problems: 1. the instructions are incomplete and 2. the final connection of the base requires two people or one person who has the hand strength to hole the parts together while inserting the screws. For those who have yet to assemble it, here are some pointers. Firstly lay out all the parts and identify them with the parts listing on page 2. Step 3 - the jack plug which goes into the underside of the music box, takes effort. You need to push hard to get it in. I thought I was going to break it before I could get it pushed in, but after carefully aligning it with the socket, it did go in. Steps 4,5, & 6 are straightforward, just make sure to get the handles on the correct sides of the music box. Step 7 requires you thread the base support bars through the mat. Just be sure to get the bars oriented correctly before putting them through the mat. The side of the bar with a square hole must be on the outside of the two bars as the bolt locks into the square hole when the bars are ultimately put together. Step 8 is the most complicated as the diagram is confusing. Firstly, the spacer with a hook on it needs to be oriented close to the mat, i.e. away from the bottom of the posts and facing the underside of the mat. Then all three spacers must align with the all the sets of holes on the bars. Start with one long screw and thread it through the bar with square holes in it, then through the spacer, middle bar, spacer with hook, bar, spacer and finally the second base support bar. Put on the metal washer and screw on the nut. Then repeat with the other two long screws. Tighten up the nuts so the head of the the screws lock into place into the square holes in the bars. Step 9 - before you insert the final bar into the mat, be sure the bar is oriented so the square holes will be on the outside. Step 10 - Again the spacer needs to be oriented so the hook is away from the floor to the underside of the mat and facing inward. Step 11 - same as Step 10, except this requires real hand strength or two people. When the final bars are connected, the elastic part of the mat will have to be stretched, so the putting the bars in position to insert the screws can be frustrating. A second pair of strong hands helps but is not totally necessary. I was able to put the bars side by side and then with both hands "roll" one bar over the other to put them in place. I then carefully aligned the holes and put a screw into the bottom holes to hold the bars in place. With some effort I pushed the spacer down from the top to go between the bars. With care, I removed the bottom screw and carefully "worked" the spacer into final position. Then put the bottom screw back through the bar-spacer-bar and put on the washer and nut. Then I put the top screw in and tightened everything up. Finally I went back and put all the dome nuts on. Step 13, 14 - straightforward. Step 15 - Attach the switch onto the hook on the space bar under the music box. Step 16 - be sure to adjust the black cord so the circular "trigger" is centered between the other two base supports. Then adjust the black core so the switch is not pulled when the black cord is in place. At one end of the cord you can adjust the length of the cord. Step 17 - straight forward.Hopefully, these additional notes will help you save some time.
