Good customer service but really needs to package the product better.
First let me say I love the server and I'm very happy with the customer support I received! When I first received the server, the box looked like it had been in a war although the server looked great. The box was all beat up. Holes were poked in it threw the sides at the top. I suppose that was so the shipper could just pick it up easier. There wasn't any more than a little bubble wrap covering each end of the server. This server is very thin and flexible and because of the thinness it would have been better to add some more padding supporting the middle.Anyway I hooked it up and it was dead. Wouldn't power on at all. I looked through Dell's support pages and followed some steps for the same problem but no go. Both power supplies lit up and the motherboard had some lights but it wouldn't power on. I then removed all the memory (192GB with plenty of slots for more) and reseated them but it was still dead. I was dreading having to send it back and wait for another one.I contacted the seller and they got right back to me the next day. They suggested some of the steps that I had already tried but they also suggested I reseat the power cables. I did that and it fired right up. Since then, over a month now, it's been running great. I bought a few more 1.2TB drives with the trays for $55 each and created a RAID6 array using the perc. I also picked up a dual 10GB card and a quad 1GB card. No problems with either card.I love this server and am currently running ESXi8 for doing some development work at home. I'm not sure I would buy again though from this seller only because of the poor packaging but the price is certainly worth it.6 Month Update ---This server has been running great since I purchased it. No issues at all. I'm very happy with it and would probably try my luck and order another.

Would not buy from again!
Ill start with the good. The server arrived packaged properly, and was cleaned very well prior to shipping. I received all items listed with almost all parts testing good. This is a great server for setting up dev testing in a pinch. Its powerful enough to run whatever you like. Its also cheap enough to add a few to your rack without breaking the bank. Now for the bad.Requests for replacement of bad parts for 3 separate orders were ignored. I really dislike leaving negative reviews, however what other choice do I have. I don't want to ship a whole server back due to a bad drive or sas back plane. One of the SAS 2.5 ports on the sas back plane was broken on arrival on this server. The 3 servers I ordered were not tested prior to sale. I have 2 more servers from this company with 2 bad drives. The requests for replacement were also ignored. As usual I will update this review if the seller reaches out and sends replacement parts. Until then buyer beware!

A very pleasant surprise
I bought this server with suspicion, the price was very good... it turned out to be everything I expected and more, excellent condition, almost new, very well packaged and presented, it works perfectly and does its job well.

Not as described, but acceptable
What I received does not match what was advertised. However, upon inspection, it is close enough (if not better) to be acceptable. The main difference was that I was expecting the 8-bay model, but I received the 10-bay model, which means no LCD, SD card slot, nor front USB ports. Not a huge problem, and I guess having an extra couple of drive bays is better.Further, this was supposed to be a 2x PCI model (one full and one half), but I received the 3x PCI version (all half). I can't be mad about that. This was advertised to have 8x 900GB 10K SAS, but I actually received 6x 1.2TB 10K SAS -- same 7.2TB of storage, so that's fine. And since I got the 10-bay model, I have 4 bays available for additional disks. However, the labels on the disk caddies didn't match the disks, so I had to scrape those off.Oh, and one of the disks was found sliding around in the bottom of the box! Subsequent testing revealed that the drive has failed -- it identifies to the controller, but any read/write attempts freeze or generate errors. For RAM, the description says 24 x 8GB (all slots populated, 192GB total), but I actually received 6 x 32GB (still 192GB), so this is actually a blessing since that means I have open slots available for additional RAM.The network controller was advertised as 2x 1Gb RJ-45 + 2x SFP+, but what I actually received is 2x 1Gb copper + 2x 10Gb copper. I planned on using the SFP+ ports for fiber optic modules, so this was a bummer. However, $25 on eBay got me the network controller I was expecting.I am pleased to report that the iDRAC license is Enterprise, not Express, so that was a welcome upgrade.Otherwise, everything else was as described (CPUs, power supplies, PERC). There is no damage whatsoever, nor hardly any signs of normal wear-n-tear -- in fact, it's exceptionally clean without a spec of dust anywhere. And so far, the unit boots up and operates just fine. For the most part, I suppose I got what I paid for -- certainly a good deal. Knocked off two stars for the inaccurate description and the failed SAS disk.

Well tested server in great working condition!
Server arrived well packaged and was delivered in a couple of days. Really happy to see all the firmware were updated to latest. Ran diagnostics overnight (10 times, thorough test) and everything passed. Excellent!!Everything was as promised. Mine actually had iDRac Enterprise and extra quad Gb Ethernet ports - nice extras that were not listed. I guess I was just lucky!! And they included a face masks and box of Nerds candy - nice touch that made me smile!Suggestion for improvement: Add options to include rack rails and self-encrypting disks. Ram upgrades and iDRac Enterprise licenses are also nice add-ons to list.I was a little apprehensive about buying an used server, but this sure is an incredible value! I expect it to last a very long time. Highly recommend TechMikeNY.
