First, understand that this rack is heavy-duty and super-sturdy. You may be surprised with the weight of the box when it is delivered. :-)I installed this on may 2006 Tacoma yesterday and am very happy with the way it turned out. It took me about 4 hours to complete the installation by myself.The installation instructions are difficult to follow because the photos are too small. But they do give you an idea of the general order of how things should be installed. Here are some extra tips that will make installation easier:~Use a ladder or stool (I had one on each side of the truck)~Do NOT tighten ANY bolts until you are done installing the entire rack.~The brackets that mount to the roof are a little tricky to mount because bolt holes on the mount are a really close to the bend on the bracket. When I mounted the brackets to my roof there wasn't enough room for the washers - so I had to cut the washers down with a Dremel tool so they would fit.~The cross-bars are all different lengths so they need to be installed in order. They have small holes drilled in them to indicate the order. 1 hole = the front crossbar; 2 holes = second crossbar, etc~If you are going to install weather stripping on the valence it is much easier to install before you mount the valence on the truck. I used 1/16" Edge, Trim Seal with Top Bulb. This helps prevent wind noise by allowing you to set the valence tight against the roof.~If you have a new truck with no scratches I would recommend getting a second person to help. The front valence is pretty dang heavy and if you do it by yourself you will need to set it down on the roof to get it into position.Overall I am very happy with the roof rack. No major complaints from me except the brackets that mount the rack to the roof are not a perfect fit - and the instructions could be a lot better. Looking forward to mounting a retractable awning and mounting some tracking boards.

I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of this rack for the price. It seems like they have been listening to past reviews and have made positive changes. 6 cross bars create a lot of room to fully hold and distribute a load. Also, the aluminum cross bars are very strong. I had a 300 lb load that was ONLY on the front two bars. They didn't even bow when loaded, handled the load like a charm.If they could just keep them in stock. Found it to be relatively easy to assemble and install, just make sure that you take the advice of others by keeping the connections loose until installed, then snug everything up.Clearance all around is nice, and it's easy to wash the roof under the rack.A great alternative to that much higher priced roof rack.It's been on for about 4 months now and holding up well. Will revise if things change.

Pretty easy to install. I was solo so I installed it on the roof. Because the sticker on front is upside down I ended up installing the front upside down and scratched my paint.I cut the weather strip to fit around rack. The weather strip has a metal band that needs to be cut also. I did silicone the roof mounting screws to stop any leaks. Looks pretty good on my truck.

This roof rack fits my 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road perfectly. The key to making sure everything fits correctly is to not tighten anything down until the last step just finger thread the rack together on the roof and once it is fit to where you like it tighten down all of the bolts. I was really blown away at the build quality, it’s a lot heavier than I expected. I went to move the box and was not expecting it to be the weight that it was. (That’s a good thing) the powder coating is done very nicely on it, a few of the corners are worn away, but I believe that’s due to FedEx shipping. I stood on top of the rack and no issues. Overall five out of five, cannot wait to put a roof top tent or kayaks on top of this! ( PS. I opted out of installing the lights on top because I have a few things that are going to take up the entire length of the rack, so I will probably use two of them as ditch lights by the mirrors later on.)

The t-slot nuts didnt fit so had to get new bolts and nuts to make it work and the crossbars will bend into roof when standing on them however the finish seems nice and its pretty simple to assemble past the hardware not working

Very well made and solid. Perfect fit on my 2023 Tacoma.Assembly was straight forward. Directions were more than adequate. Package arrived very fast, all parts and hardware arrived intact.A few tips on installation:I washed the truck and gave the roof a coat of wax, it’ll be a chore to do it in the future.Check all the threaded holes with included hardware. Makes it much easier when it comes to assembly.Assemble everything finger tight so that small adjustments can be made during install.I used a little RTV on the mounting blocks to prevent water intrusion and to hold them in place before install.Again, a little RTV on the mounting bolt threads to keep water from creeping in.Last, trim the rain channel moldings and use the same RTV to reinstall. It gives it a nice, clean finished job.Better quality than I was expecting for the price point. Hooke Road put a lot of thought into this product and it shows that they listen to their customers.
