First review - after installation. Updated - 8 months later. Updated 11 months later.
I purchased this system from Amazon, box said it was shipped from Pentair Filtration Solutions. I researched water filtration systems and decided to purchase this system because it is said to remove "oxidized iron, manganese and sulfides", that are plentiful in my well water (I live in central Florida). Received this system a week after it was ordered and it was the original box this system is sold in, not an assortment of parts that can be assembled to form this system, an option that seems to be available from a few other vendors who sell this system for the same cost or even more. Installation was super easy and no leaks at all. On first day, water is tasting like the RO water I used to buy in Walmart up to today. The test of time is the real test for a drinking water system. This filter set is supposed to last a year or 1000 gallons. In my case the year will come first. My well water is wretched and has the potential to stress any filtration system. I will come back to add to this review when it is time to replace the filter set, as soon or late this may be.Update - 8 months later: Water still tastes the same. I'm impressed. I pull at least two gallons or more daily but the year life time of the filters is 3/4 through. This is very good performance considering the type of water I run through this system.Update - 11 months later: Water still tastes the same but I replaced the 2-cartridge set because it is almost a year which is the recommended life time of this filter set. I purchased the replacement set here at Amazon and paid $199 with free shipping. Replacement was as easy as installation. Takes longer to prepare for it than to do it.

Expensive but super effective and last 12 months
I once worked for Pentair and installed this filtration system for our home with 6 children back in 2003. Have been using ever since on city water system. It removes all chlorine tastes and smells from the water. We are a high use family, everyone carries a water bottle every where and the filters last an entire year; in the last 2 months the flow rate is reduced but remain effective. Replacement filters are a bit expensive but we have found them well worth the cost over the last 16+ years. Awesome filter system!

Great product! Great Price!
I live out in the 'farms' in South Florida where we have well water and water softener system. I have been using this system for over 10 years and it works perfectly for my drinking water. I have it connected to a water spout at the kitchen sink as well as our fridge for the ice and cold water. This set comes with the H-1200#1 & H-1200#2 cartridges, instructions for installation, and a battery operated replacement reminder. The reminder doesn't monitor the water usage but instead will flash a light and beep after 11months (330days) to remind you to change your filters (don't forget to pull the tab before you stick it on). Remember that these filters are designed to filter 1,000gallons of water.Replacing these cartridges are easy. Just shut off your water supply to your unit (my system has a shut-off valve for each cartridge on the unit itself). Turn each cartridge to the left as much as you can (you will see a notch on the cartridge appear). Pull down to remove it (you may want to place a towel underneath the cartridges before you remove them because some water may spill out). Remove the plastic wrap and plastic cap (on top) from each cartridge. Insert the new cartridge with the notch in the same place. Turn the cartridge to the right as much as you can (you should feel it lock). After you have both new cartridges locked in turn the water supply back on to the unit. Let the water run from your output (water spout, fridge, etc.) for 7-10minutes to get the water flowing through the new cartridges and get the air out. That's it! Clean water!Note#1: In case you haven't replaced your filter in awhile....this replacement set works in place of the discontinued THM#1 & THM#2 version. They stand about 2.5inches taller than the older version(so make sure you have the room) but they replace just as easy and filter 300 more gallons of water.Note#2: This item is only the (2) 'replacement cartridges'. The system is available for purchase on Amazon:Everpure EV9282-00 H-1200 Drinking Water System.

Good Filtration - Low Flow Rate - Can Coorode to Mount
Original user left the filters in pllace far more than a year, maybe 2+. One of the two was frozen in place and I had to dismount the whole base unit to clamp and torque the filter off. Re-installation of the new filter was flawlessly easy. If you change them annually, this may not happen. Taste is as good as a full RO system, and far batter than faucet-attachment or cartridge-pitcher brands/designs. Flow rate is fine to fill glasses of water, BUT if you want to dispense large amounts [> 2 cups/16oz] for cooking it can take time and patience.
