I have tried other cord protectors like the hard corrugated plastic "loom" protector. Those work to keep cats from biting through cords, but they have many disadvantages: not enough sizes, so often too big for the cord, bulky, stiff, hard to put on yet easy for the cord to pop out several inches at the ends. These spiral wrap protectors come in the sizes you need for narrow cords, are very flexible, are not bulky, are priced fairly, and the clear material is not ugly. It takes some patience to wind them around the cord, but once on, they stay put. These won't stand up to a determined animal chewer, but they are protective enough that you have time to grab the critter before your expensive cord is shredded. Strangely, my mischievous felines are less interested in my phone cord now - maybe the smell/taste is different. But I still try to keep the cords in less accessible places, or keep my eye on them (the tempting cord on the nightstand) when bored cats are wanting to get my attention. Even if you don't have pets who chew cords, these protectors help protect against kinks and general wear and tear.

easy to use and keeps cables together

I bought it a little to small, but it still worked really good for wire clean up. Would suggest buying on size up then what you think you need.

Used to bind a poly drain tube to a water pipe. Looks clean and neat, almost can't see, but provides continuous support.

I wired my own portable LED lights for my boat and used separate black and red wires for each light, so I needed a cable wrap to keep the pair of wires together on each string. I had a total of 4 lights, each was about 8 feet long. Once installed, this does exactly what I need it to do. It keeps the wires together, is secure and remains flexible. However, it is a pain to install and requires a lot of time and patience. You essentially have to wind the wrap around the cable for each individual turn of the cable wrap spiral, which is a lot of turns and can quickly become a tangled mess. Even when I got the hang of it by the 4th light, it took me 30 minutes to install 8' of wrap. In hindsight, if you can somehow hang your cable vertically in the air it might be easier to install because you can swing your cable in a circle around your cable wrap and potentially avoid them getting all tangled up. I'm happy with how they turned out, but given how difficult installation was, I don't know if I would buy this again.

I use oxygen so I used it to cover the tubing and prevent it from coiling

I ORDERED THE 1/4 INCH. IT WAS SO SMALL, IT WOULD WRAP AROUND THINGS, THE SIZE OF A WOODEN PENCIL I RETURNED AS IT WAS TOO SMALL.
