Great basic gear that really takes a beating.
I purchased two sets of these along with bikes and helmets for my kids and they really do the job. MANY a scraped knee has been avoided with these pads. They are fairly comfortable from what I hear (since I'm not the one wearing them I can only ask!), and are really easy to put on. Not too much messing around with straps and adjustments. Just some good old fashioned spandex! Which is fairly thick so they really do take a beating! We've actually had these for quite a while now - over a year I think! - and they work just as great as the day we opened them. The plastic guard cups are thich and sturdy but don't inhibit mobility at all.My kids have fallen so hard wearing these that the plastic looks shaved off in places but still are really durable and do the job. They also come in a great little mesh bag which a lifesaver for storing and carrying around to friend's houses and sporting events where these would be needed.I'm extremely happy with these and this brand really never fails to disappoint.I would recommend these highly if you're looking for protection for basic outdoor play like biking, blading or scooter riding. They're really excellent pads and fit a very broad range of ages and body types!

Good quality. Really great if you're expecting to fall!
These pads are really great. I bought them so I could learn how to roller blade without getting too scratched up. They come in this little mesh drawstring bag so you can put them back in for storage and easily bring it with you to the park. The pads themselves are great, but a little small for adults (as another review said). They attach by velcro straps and are a little tight on the knees, but mostly ok. You can still put them on if you're larger because the straps are elastic, but it might be uncomfortable because it's tight. When I got them, I did a test fall so that I could see if I would be ok before actually going skating. The pads are so protective! I fell onto my knees with full force and the pads took all the shock. You could barely feel that you fell on the floor. Plus, the clothy part that extends past the plastic circles are pretty thick, so the areas around my knee didn't take damage either.

Great pads
I ordered these for my almost 8 year old son to wear to ice skating practice and on his in-line skates. They're really nice pads. My son falls a lot and they protect him well. The only issue I have with them is that they are a tad too big. I put them as tight as I can, and they slide around a little bit. I wish there was more velcro so I could make them tighter. I may try to add some extra velcro. I could probably wear them and be fine, but he's obviously smaller than me. However, I really love that they come in a little mesh bag with a pull string top. It's easy to keep them all together so they don't get separated and lost. And his shoes fit inside the bag so they're easy to carry with us while he's wearing his in-line skates. So I think these would be good for an older kid or an adult. But for a child under maybe 12, they might be a tad big, but still can work with them.

I like these, my son is almost 3
I like these, my son is almost 3, height 49 and he is a solid boy of 42 pounds, so the knee protectors are just a little bit big, but they still can be adjusted and he will grow in them, the elbows are right size, also adjustable and can be used for long term. If your kid is too small, use elbow protection for the knees, they also fit perfectly...quality is good (not professional perfection) and they do the work, my son has fallen several time and NO SCRATCHS. These ones happily match with my son's hat also. I recommend these pads, te price s great and it is what a parent would like to protect the kid.

Easily fit adults too!
I am an average size woman, dress size 6-8 (5'6" and 130#) and these fit me with no trouble at all and some room to spare. They would easily fit someone larger too (but probably not a large muscular male---he might be able to wear the kneepads as elbow pads though!). They have stretch velco straps so the size is adjustable. The velcro straps are comfortable, not so tight that they cut off circulation. I like them a LOT better than my old ones, which were not straps but stretchy elastic and hard to get on and off, especially if one was sweating! These are simple, fast and easy to put on and take off. These seem well-made; I've had them for about a month (with usage 3 times a week, for biking) and I expect them to last a long while----but even if they didn't, at this price it's affordable to replace them. They probebly would work equally well for skating. They don't hamper one's movement---when wearing them, I pretty much forget that they're there. For the price, these can't be beat! I'm very pleased with the purchase.

Skater kid
My son is a skateboard lover and I needed something that would protect his knees, elbows and head. This worked just fine. The straps where tight, the padding was thick, it was comfortable and great value for the price.

Seem to work great, and provide great protection...
...but to tell the truth, I'm a little bit miffed about the velcro detaching on one of the places that the straps attach to. Other than that, these are pretty darn decent. But on the pair that I have, I now have to reattach the velcro.Would I purchase these again, for my 6 year old son? Sure, the velcro is a minor point (or sorts), but I still feel that something like this kind of serves as an indicator of other things that we all think shouldn't go wrong, that do. Imagine being on vacation and the velcro coming loose. It would pretty much make these unusable for the duration. Just one of those things that really is not supposed to happen. All in all, they are still pretty decent material, and should live up to the tests trials and tribulations of a 6 year old boy...and when he grows out of them, his sister will probably punish them even more, as will her younger sister, as well. Yeah, I kind of expect a bit of longevity out of these.
